Congrats team. Don't let it get in your head. There is still unfinished business.

Congrats to the team! It is pretty amazing that people aren't more excited about this. Two good years in a row and the expectations are through the roof. That being said...

The team gets a ring for a Big South Championship?!? Really?

You never saw the ones from last year?
All the teams get them for winning a conference championship.

I guess it's cool about the rings. Do any of our other teams get them? Unless something has changed recently, the cross country/track teams don't. If they did, Coach Tolsma would have something like 39 rings right now (that's my closest estimate).

Well I know that men's and women's soccer, men's and women's basketball and football get them. I would assume that every championship team does...but as I understand it the cost is paid for by the athletic department. It isn't picked up by the conference. If it comes out of a teams budget is there a possibility that some team budgets couldn't take the hit? I would find that a little unlikely, but just a thought.

Congratulations...
...hopefully the team can take care of a little unfinished business the next two games.

That has happened before and the money was found in other budgets....you talk about some teams not being thrilled with buying someone elses rings

but with football you can find that money quickly from the supporters

This is an awesome back to back acomplishment. I hope the boys come out jazzed and drill GW and Pull off the Elon upset. What a way to close things out, Hose loss or not. 10-2 sounds nice.

great accomplishment! I know I am slightly disappointed with the way the season has unfolded, but back to back conference championships is something I did not expect to see only 4 years ago..great job guys, and lets finish the season out strong

Good job flames! I was at every home game when they went 1-10, so going to all the games this year and seeing them as Big South Champs two years in a row is a nice accomplishment

The ones from last year were WAY too big and gaudy, as I suspect the ones this year will be as well. It's a conference championship, and certainly an accomplishment to be honored. But with a ring that huge, there's nowhere upward to go for a playoff berth, or even a national championship. That's how big they were!

I don't think this year's will be like that. Last year was the first time in school history so it was extra special. I don't think they'll go over the top this time.

Are you serious? "Champ rings" too big? These things are mostly for display. They are suppose to be big enough to be seen in a display box, shadow box, or on a Hall of Fame wall. For some people, even the decisions about rings is a bad call. Remind me to not invite you to my next birthday.

Coincidence: I don't celebrate birthdays.
