BEWARE AND BE READY!

I am very wary of all this snake oil from the Laffy fans and how they agree with us on a probable victory. Bull Crap! They are setting up our fan base for another afternoon of complacency and hand sitting. We NEED to rally our 12th man advantage in every way possible. We need to make Williams Stadium the REAL SCAREMARE, or whatever they call that event. From the Baptist side I scan the student section last week, and I saw the same glazed look in your eyes that I see from my own kids in the back of the minivan after traveling down 501 from Buena Vista. Superjon, I couldn't even find you in your usual location. Where was the harrassment? Who has our thundersticks? All of you Old Test/biblical scholars must remember what happened to a fat and prosperus Israel....THEY GOT A WAKE UP CALL!!!! Consider this, as one crying from the Ohio wildernessssss............ THIS HOUSE MUST ROCK ON SATURDAY........DON'T FALL INTO THE TRAP, WORRIED MORE ABOUT COLORED TEE SHIRTS AND SUNDRESSES THAN BEING THE DISRUPTIVE FORCE THAT WE SHOULD BE SATURDAY AFTERNOON!

i already touched on this a little in another thread, but i've been really disappointed with the student section's noise and really hope its better this week. they need to hype this game more than they have. I haven't heard anything about it, so hopefully they are talking about it in convo today. its supposed to be cold, so hopefully people will be jacked on coffee for the game

I agree wholeheartedly with everything madmat stated although I wish he could've left the 12th Man expression out of the language. We don't want to be dorks like those aggys.

Hopefully the band doesn't "save" themselves for a high school game this week to do their part to keep the energy levels up.

Hopefully the Baptist side decides the cooler temps deserve some more movement to keep their joints from locking up and they generate a little noise as well.

I'll be screaming from my favorite chair in my living room. Too bad you don't hear me as well as my neighbors two doors down.

Fan the Flames!

i think we should do a chant at the baptist side. we tried a few weeks ago but i don't think they caught it

No, the 20 of us doing a chant isn't going to change anything on the other side.

We need to set an example.

I was there. Second row on the fifty like always trying to lead stuff. After we got up 17 I'll admit that even I started to space out a little bit.

we have set an example for 2 years. if we call them out they'll stand up, at least a lot of them will. it would take more than 20 people yelling though

maybe allan could get a microphone and run up and down the sidelines yelling for them to stand up...

Some of us on the Baptist side tried to do that "jumping thing" during the pregame, but that's just hard to do with canes, walkers, crutches, and oxygen tanks. I liked the Thunder Sticks, but many of us had to turn our hearing aids way down so we didn't burst our ear drums with all that racket and carrying on.

i'm not a huge fan of the whole jumping thing, or of them telling everyone exactly what to do before every game but i guess it works ok so i'm not gonna complain too much.

i'm not asking for you to jump cj, i just want you to stand up and clap occasionally, like on huge plays. i don't expect ya'll to stand the whole game, i know your old :D i just want to see some movement so we can tell you guys are still alive over there

We do stand up for the big plays, and I even bought myself a pair of field glasses to keep an eagle eye on you young whipper snappers during the game. What was up with the plaid shorts last week, JDUB?

Unfortunately a chant from us isn't going to change the other side. We have trouble getting the people around us to do the You Can't Do That chant the right way, much less something else.

and thats another liberty... FIRST DOWN
MOVE THOSE CHAINS, MOVE THOSE CHAINS, MOVE THOSE CHAINS

after a penalty.. YOU CAN'T DO THAT clap clap clap clap clap

we do all our chants 3x then stop

most of the others are made up on the spot

After a penalty you wait until after the referee announces it though. You don't start right after the play like some kids behind us do.

yeah there are a few slightly retarded people in the student section who look like idiots after every play trying to do chants at the wrong time or over the PA system

And for the love of Danny Rocco, if the band is playing the fight song, stand up. Sing if you know the words, but at least stand up.
