Still don't understand not running the last one in just up 5.

Brian Westbrook of the Eagles did the same move Rashad did last year to ice a game. A really smart football play.

It makes a ton of sense to me man... it left Coastal with ZERO hope to win the game.

It isn't likely, but if we have a bad snap when downing the ball, it would not have been good.

The chances of that are even less than some kind of miracle comeback. Godsil snapping to Brock is as sure of a thing as there is on this team.

The way we did it a win was guaranteed. If we score, it would have taken some crazy stuff, but there was a possibility of them pulling it out. The final margin is meaningless.

In the second half our offense was unstoppable with Rashaad, Dominec, and BJ Hayes with great numbers. Offensive line gave Brock plenty of time and the running game opened up late to put it away with numerous first downs.

Not sure if our defense was poor or the Coastal QB was that good. He is definately 1A calibre, moves around really well and has a great arm and never give up. Not sure if the runs after the catches were great effort or just poor tackling on our part. One of their receivers made some great catches.

A win on the road is a good thing and now time to go home to some sellout crowds.

After last week's big game, this week's game was a perfect set up for an emotional let down.
These guys and the coaches deserve a lot of credit for the last three wins on the road.

Coach Rocco on Outcome -
"Deep down I knew it would go down to the end. But I give our kids a lot fo credit as they made the plays they need to run. Rashad made a great decision to drop down and run the clock out. I thought the possibility existed that a complete 60-minute game would be tough after Youngstown. Defensively we still have a long, long way to go."

Coach Rocco on ZT's Knee -
"It is not good. I'm not sure if it is an ACL or MCL. We are looking at an extended period of time but I hope it is 2-3 weeks and not 2-3 months. We'll know more Monday or Tuesday."

Coach Rocco on moving forward -
"We need to circle the wagons as we have Stony Brook coming in for their first trip to Williams Stadium. I am calling on the fans to step up and create a great game environment."

Coach Rocco Final Remarks -
"We had a great crowd here tonight. For all of the talk of the black out, I came out onto the field tonight and saw all of our fans in red and it was clean and fun. I am really proud of these kids. The big focus is to remain proud but humble. We started out the season talking about coming out strong while winning with character. Winning 5 straight this year and 10 in a row overall, I would say we have accomplished that goal. I'd give us an A+ tonight."

Don't want to make too much of it, but as I recall the Eagles beat the Giants years ago in that situation. Up 10-14, I see nothing wrong with it.

I am done with this one. :D

Glad we won. Go Flames!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol, it was a big time run for a big time player, and it led to a 5-0 record! and 10 straight wins!

If Rashad runs it in, we're up 11 or 12 with next to nothing on the clock. Even if they run the kickoff back and make their two, we still win by 3 or 4. I don't think the decision had anything to do with clock management or anything like that -- it seems like it was just a nod of respect to Coastal, to not run the score up to 50.

Westbrooks makes millions of dollars in the pros and gets to make those decisions. If Rocco didn't direct him to do that, no way he should have done it. Rashad is trying to go pro and we need to put as many points on the board as possible for the polls.

THe chances of them coming back from 13 down or a bad snap are equal but id take the up 13 any day.

Our defense better show up next week, because they looked bad tonight.

Totally different situation. The Giants were pinned down in the shadow of their OWN goal post, not on the Eagles 1, and stupidly they tried to hand the ball off to Czonka instead of just falling on it. It shows just how far fetched the scenario would be to lose in that situation. You have to cite something that happened 30 years ago, and even then it really isn't comparable. We did the right thing.

We were a onside kick away from potentiallly losing the game. I fell we were the better team but could not put them away. Obviously we were not worried about clock management. When we got the ball back of the interception we should have milked the clock but were still throwing. That should have been the ball game. A few series before that the announcer even said we were snapping the ball w/ 10 seconds on the play clock. I say put 50 up on the board and let RJ pat his stats. Anyways a Win is a Win. Looking forward to next weekend!

Flameshaw and I were talking :oldhag to :oldhag about a game between the Giants and Eagles that was played before most of you were born. Joe Pzyarchek fumbled handing the ball off to Czonka with seconds left and Herm Edwards picked it up and scored.

The Westbrook play where he stopped short like Rashaad did was against the cowboys last year
