Presby feels that they are very competetive- and may well win their BSOUTH matchups. :| Maybe I'm confused on which sport they're speaking of?

I think the only Big South game that we are really outmatched in is and may not have a real chance is Liberty....GW, VMI, and CSU (even thoug they seem to be decent) are all beatable teams...I'll hold judgement for CCU until after their game this saturday against LU

gobluehose wrote:I was thinking the other day during a boring lecture on counseling.....and I was thinking about how we are 1-4, but that three of our losses are to teams that might/probably make the playoffs and are top 15 nationally (Wofford #8, Elon #14, App. State #3). Granted we should have beaten Western and maybe we'll learn to kick FGs for Big South play. Our biggest issue seems to be the general concept of finishing. We've gotten in the red zone far more times than we've come away with points of any kind. From the App. State game, we were inside their 5 midway through the 3rd going in for the go ahead score and we couldn't finish. We had Armanti wrapped up several times saturday night and let him get away and make a huge play (a certain 72 yard bomb for a TD comes to mind). We've got to learn how to finish plays and finish games.

I think we are by far through the toughest part of our schedule....if we can throw for almost 400 yards against teams like Wofford (350+/-) and App. State (375), and can have 400+ yards of offense against the WCUs of the world, there is no reason why we can't compete with every Big South team.....and it starts with a warm up this week against North Greenville/Liberty-south University. Of course then again, if the PC team that played Elon shows up, it's possible we could finish this year at 1-11 or 2-10. It's hard to judge how this team will come out, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now....
and no, gbh- I am NOT stalking you. 8)

We must continue to believe that we will be successful and support the program as we continue to grow.

All that being said, it's time to go out and win a bunch of games now that we have finished with this stretch of the schedule. The rest of the year we face teams that we either should beat or at the very least have a chance to beat if we play our best.

VMI down 21-7 early to Richmond.

CSU up 3-0 early on GW.

Both games in the 1st Quarter.

I'm at the game...csu's TD came on a very nice halfback pass.

Sweet, thanks for the update.

I'm guessing CSU is looking pretty good, all signs point to them being a much improved team.

They've looked ok, but gardner-webb has looked awful. 2 turnovers, a missed 4th down conversion, and pretty much a very conservative and ineffective offense (except for one big play). Both CSU scores have been with a short field.

Gardner-Webb started moving the ball late in the 2nd and scored on a fade in the corner of the endzone. It's 10-7 CSU at the half.

Neither offense is doing much in the 2nd half, though gwu WR Dobson Collins (#7) has made some incredibly togh catches. Still 10-7 CSU with 11 minutes left in the game.

Elon pretty close to winning. 24-3 against Furman in the 4th.

GWU has been controlling the clock in the 2nd half and CSU's defense is wearing down. GWU kicked a FG to tie it with just under 2 min. left. But csu had a big kickoff return. And a big pass puts them at the gwu 10 with 40 seconds left.

It's good...bucs win 13-10. I'll post more when I get home.
