In no way is this meant to say we will get a home game in the playoffs or anything like that. We obviously have a lot of work still left to do to just to make the playoffs, and I will be happy making them. But I'm wondering what exactly are the criteria for team's getting a home playoff game. I know the top 4 are seeded by the committe, but what about the other 4? I know it has to do with the school putting together a package for the NCAA selection committe, but what are the rest of the factors? Or is it just who opens up their checkbook the most?

Probably has something to do with attendence which would be related to more money. We would have to guarentee a certain paid attendence number or put up the difference.

To answer the question, it's the checkbook.

When I covered the 2003 playoffs, Northern Arizona played Florida Atlantic at home and already knew it would host the semifinal game if it won. Why? Colgate didn't put in a bid. They thought they'd lose money on the game, so they didn't want to host it. It's a big reason why Hampton hosted New Hampshire a few years back.
