I think we can win this one, but I just can't be confident enough to predict a win. I say 24-20 YSU, .but I hope I am wrong!

I don't usually make predictions, but I'm bored tonight, and the condescension at the YSU boards has put me in a bad mood.

Lot's of scoring, not a defensive game like the last one.
The defenses are good but the offenses on both sides will be better.

No they're not. Youngstown's defense is the backbone of that team. Granted, their D-line is banged up big time, but their secondary is legit. They're still trying to figure out what type of offense they want to run.

YSU secondary took a hit also Sat.nite, losing a cornerback with a knee injury.

Don't want to be a downer- and maybe someone can say something that will change my opinion, but I think we are going to have a rough time.
The Guins rushing game seems to be getting stronger, and I haven't seen much that gives me confidence that LU can stop a strong rushing attack. I don't doubt that we'll move the ball, but I think the Red Zone might be a problem for us.

Rogers, that's not an unrealistic prediction by any stretch of the imagination. The key to the game will be us stopping their run, and us being able to get 6 rather than 3 in the red zone.

There are only 4 players on this LU team that started against YSU in '05. Stone and Godsell on offense - Calvary and Hursky on defense. Terrel, Rasberry, Bolden, Sandvig & Rogers played in that game also. The talent level at LU is significantly higher than it was in '05. I'm sure these guys and the rest of the 4th year players would love nothing more than to leave OH with a win that would leave YSU faithful scratching there heads. This is LU's game to lose. If they minimize the mental mistakes(penalties, dropped passes, missed assignments and missed tackles) They have just as good of a chance as any FBS school of winning this game.

I'll be hoping for the six and that I'm wrong with my prediction. If so, I'd feel confident of a BS sweep and an exciting, competitve game w/ Elon- followed by our first playoff game ever.

Brock Smith also played in that game. Karcher threw him in on a third-and-long and he was promptly sacked.

Oh yes! Forgot about Brock the biggest upgrade from '05 starters. Hopefully the O-line can keep him on his feet this time.

Got this from the YSU board.
Coach just said on Sports program...
Jarvis Richards OUT FOR THE YEAR.
That is a tremendous loss, IMO.
Jarvis did more than his share. I thought his
play was truly impressive.

Lets look at the game they had against Central state. The offense put up 239 yards rushing and then against North Dakota State they put up 340 yards rushing. To me it looks like they have their offense figured out and that they like to run the ball . It looks like the running game is the real backbone of the team.
