Well that was a pretty ugly 4th quarter but it was a victory nonetheless in front of nearly 14k.

I missed one of the Int's. I saw one where Brock threw as he was getting hit; what happened on the other? Bad throw, tip?

It went through Raspberry's hands ... but it wasn't a well thrown ball.

I was really impressed with Mike Brown tonight--he played backup QB, RB, receiver, and special teams. I hope he gets a shot at QB next year.

Video Highlights vs. Glenville State

Image

Five of Liberty’s six touchdowns on the evening were for 20 or more yards, pushing the Flames to a 44-27 victory over Glenville State, Saturday evening, in front of 13,917 fans at Williams Stadium.

The victory, played in front of the seventh-largest crowd in program history, pushes Liberty’s record to 2-0. The loss evens the Pioneers’ record at 1-1 early in the 2008 season.

The 17-point win extended Liberty’s home winning streak to 10 games, the longest in the country among FCS programs. The Flames entered the game tied with Dayton, as the Flyers had also claimed nine-straight home wins. However, Dayton had this weekend off before it hosts Fordham at home next weekend.

Mike Brown is the freakin man. I thought we played sloppy. I know some of that was against 3rd string defense, but still we need to play better than that from here on out if we want a shot at the playoffs

It's nice to be able to watch highlights and see the photos from the game within two hours of the game being over.... Kudos to Wetmore and the whole crew in Hancock!!!

Of the 13,900 in the stands, from the Baptist side I could see a few guys on the front row who were painted red, white, and blue, but from that distance I couldn't make out who they were. Was that Bryson & JDUB and a few others?

It was Bryson and a couple of LUnatics you probably have not met before.

Band played to the students tonight. they enjoyed the show from the looks of things. Band got water in the stands this time instead of the block so we were ready to play if need be

Silly statement IMHO. Our first 3 quarters, while less than perfect, were pretty impressive, even though we started working in reserves early. I was disappointed in the 4th quarter too, but our 3rd stringers aren't likely to play against Youngstown or Elon, and the final score of this game isn't likely to factor in our making the playoffs or not. I give Glenville credit for playing 60 minutes. They had their starters in all the way and never let up. Had we done that we would have won by 40, and people would be ripping Rocco for rolling it up and risking injuries to starters.

Yes moron, really. I mean the band has been getting ripped here and Im sure else where for as far back as I can remember for "taking the third quarter off". So the band starts coming back during the third quarter and some people I guess still werent happy so Dr Kerr decided to try putting the band right back in their seats after the performance. Anyway wont be playing for the home crowd again for 5 weeks

As far as the football is concerned, I agree with olldflame. This game was not that close. I was reading the preview in the paper yesterday and the biggest concern that was noted in the article was the teams tendency to come out flat in that third game the last two seasons. Western Carolina will be coming off that hammering from Florida State but we still have to come right out and put our foot on their throat this week.

It only took 3000 words but you figured out the idea of this thread, I knew you could

If D-Nic isn't special teams player of the week something is wrong.

Brock had a great game. Neither interception was because of a bad decision and the one that was a "bad throw" was because he was hit.

The one bright spot in all of these injuries is getting to see the Rocco recruits in the game in game situations before the game is out of hand. Seeing Mike Brown, BJ Hayes, Jamal Giddens, Mike Connolly, and all of those guys who we've heard about but never seen in the game was something that was nice to see. I'd still rather see Rashad, Hursky, KO, and those guys in there but it's nice to see some of those other guys show what they've shown in practice in a game setting.

Jamal Giddens needs to be on the field.

Mike Brown is amazing.

Brandon Robinson is going to be very good.

Jamal Giddens...................

He definately has the talent to be playing with the first team, IMHO as the season goes on and he learns the defense, he will be moved into the starters role.

Because he's at least smart enough to realize that answering your posts is a waste of time because you don't shut up.
