There's absolutely no chance he'll end up at Richmond. He's not in school because of academics, so there's no way Richmond picks him up. AGS is saying he also left because of Honor Code violations, but that hasn't been in print anywhere so take it for what it's worth.

because we've gotten a fair number of transfers from UVa and this is obviously another potential one. That's the basis of this thread. Although that may have been your subtle way of saying you don't think he'll come here.

I wasn't trying to imply anything because I know nothing about him coming here. I've just noticed more JMU/Richmond talk than Liberty talk, that's why I was wondering why it was here.

I assumed he'd be at UR because of the coaching connection. I know they have good academics but I don't think admissions cares about that as much as most fans/students think their particular schools does. It's an easy way to accept not getting a potential recruit or transfer.

He won't enroll anywhere until summer. I seriously doubt the supplemental draft is an option. We are absolutely in the mix on this one.

apparently you did not read the article. UVA to UR is about a lateral move academically. london would have to pull a miracle of sorts. that is the onlyway and it could happen, but i would say we have jsut a good a shot as anyone.

I read that article. Getting into a school is different than staying in a school. I have no doubt that a 1st year coach will do whatever it takes to get a superstar on the roster, that has already played for him. If the NCAA allows him to play (which I'm assuming they will), I don't think any school is gonna stop it.

i would suggest you read more about UR. they are very strict academically. plus would london stick his neck out on a kid that might not get it done academically for his first head coaching job??

Aspersions on Redd's character aside, he was with us for a full year before he ever set on the field in order to get his academics straightened out. How is that not an academic issue?

I was over on AGS and most of the banter there is about him either landing at UD or JMU. From what I can tell, not as much talk about him landing at UR (and from what I can tell no mention of LU)

That's because it's UD and JMU posters discussing it. I don't get the point of that forum. It's like a place to go to talk about your own team with people who only want to talk about their own team. And fawn over App St.

Here's a thought: why is it assumed that Fitzgerald will go I-AA? He's got 2 years of eligibility left and he never redshirted. Why wouldn't he go to, say, Kansas State or something?

No, he isn't. If he'd stayed in good standing at UVa, I would agree but he screwed the pooch on that one. He's not going on the first day out of a I-AA school unless he absolutely tears everybody up and he's not going first day if he has to sit out a year. Unless he comes out right now -- which would be absolutely stupid on his part -- the NFL will have to wait for at least two years.

I guess it depends on why he had to leave UVA. If it were academics, he'd have to sit out a year anyway right? So he might as well go to a FBS school. If not, he'll probably want to play right away. A year away from football is normally pretty harmful. Why does everybody mention KSU as the team he'd go to? Do they have a history of taking transfers? I don't see why anybody on earth would want to go there.
