I will bet one person, one breakfast meal at Hardee's that the opponent will not be LU.
Considering what VT said publicly the other day, no one should take this bet.

“We believe we have an opponent identified," Babcock said. "We are just working through the contract stuff before we can talk formally about it. I would anticipate it would be an FCS opponent at this late date. Having two on our schedule is not ideal. Strength of schedule wise, we go to Notre Dame, that’s good, but obviously two FCS (opponents) is not ideal.”

This quote was in today's Roanoke paper. But it was not my original source.

I’m new to the forum and am still figuring out which posters are legit and which accounts are satirical/parody. I think I’m almost there though.

The pursuit of this may run you in circles for a while. I swore for the first year that ball coach was a parody account.

It’s kind of like a digital form of people watching. This website is like a cross between your local shopping mall and the annual county fair. All the crazies come out of the woodwork.

And some offer up illogical, asinine opinions.

It’s false to believe we’re all entitled to an opinion. One is only entitled to an opinion if they can defend it. This board is good for that. Don’t just bring it; defend it. If you can’t, don’t bring that weak stuff.

If you defend your opinion with facts, statistics, and knowledge it’ll usually kill a thread.

If you offer up wild ideas in the name of vision or “sources” then your threads will go on for months.

Trust me--Ballcoach is REAL. If you ever get back in town, we'll got out for Junior Whoppers at BK.

I can’t wait!

On a related note, I had a Whipper Jr. the other day. I like BK’s flavor a lot. But I was surprised how small the Jr. was. It was the same size patty as a regular cheeseburger. It just came with lettuce and tomato, which the cheeseburger doesn’t. Disappointing.

Agreed--the Whopper, Jr. is not much bigger than a slider now, which is really sad.

Duh! It’s smaller! It has less of EVERYTHING. It has less of the good stuff, too!

That is about as obvious as thinking Hugh Freeze might be our next coach after he spoke in convo.

VT is not program they once was. But they can right the ship if they act quickly. I look for defense to be better next season. On offense, play calling must improve, and they need a stud at running back, and stop using a committee at the position.

VT probably laying out $4-600k for an FCS team to come - give that to us and we eat difference - we already stay in a hotel 1 night for a home game anyway - travel expense would literally be a bus. Home gate not that much we give up anyway. This is one time it would make sense to restructure - would be different if we only had 1 FCS game and it counted towards bowl eligible.
Just saw this. FCS schools generally get paydays in the $350K-$450K range, which is one of the reasons why moving to FBS was so attractive. (William and Mary got $350K to go to Blacksburg, Furman will get $400K). A MAC or Sun Belt team playing at an SEC or Big Ten school will likely get closer to $1M, if not a bit more.
