News flash. The coach who put that team together is now at USC and while they have had some continued success, it's not something I want to base my conference affiliation on. To me, the best thing about the A-Sun would be the attractiveness of the travel destinations. Pretty much anywhere in FL as well as Nashville, ATL, and the Big Apple certainly beat Clinton, Buies Creek and Boiling Springs as places to go on a road trip. It would be great for fans with unlimited free time and resources.
and what has the Big South done for you lately? FGCU is a known program now even though their run was a few years ago. They're still referred as "Dunk City". Lets look at the ASUN other accomplishments. Kennesaw State made it to Super Regionals in Baseball in 2014. FGCU WBB was ranked in 2015. FGCU men's soccer team is a top 10 team and made it to the sweet 16.
So how are they equal? ASUN has schools that spends money on athletics and has successful teams. Can the Big South say that...no. I'm sure the athletes would gladly take trips to Nashville/Jacksonville over Farmville/Boiling Springs any day of the week.
