B.J. definitely will be our #1 receiver...Im interested to see who else works into our 4 wide sets come this fall

I know nobody likes to talk about Freshmen in these discussions (Calvert being the notable exception) but I think we will need some production from one of our new guys at WR I'm thinking most likely the big guy, Gandy-Golden, since he brings something to the table our other receivers lack

I think both he and McConnell could contribute from day 1. AGG gives us height (at 6-4) so he can get most 50-50 balls which would make him a very good red zone option, and he has a good bit of speed for his height so getting him, Farrow, and Shells will certainly spread the defense which will open the middle for the slots as well as the tight end (Smith or Couamin)

McConnell is a another tall slot who has the speed to get to the soft spot in a zone and give Masha an option over the middle if the play to the outside is not there,

Not sure where you get the "tall" reference Lionel is 5'10" Same height as King, and probably a bit short to play out wide for us, so yes, he will be in the slot With Parker and King coming back, it's hard to see him breaking the 2 deep, so unless he turns out to be absolutely electric as a KR, I see a redshirt in his future

My thinking with the slot position is you'd have a smaller guy (5-8 or 5-9) with some good quicks that you can run on jet action like another RB or can run the short crossers or quick slants and get to the middle of the zone. 5-10 puts you about on par with (I think) the average height of a DB hence the "tall" reference

Not buying that for a second BJ This is D1 football 5'10" is not tall, no matter what position you are talking about Our likely starting DBs will be 6'3", 6'2", 6', and 5'10" and our other 2 slots are 5'10" and 5'9" Parker is the only player on the roster shorter than McConnell (by an inch) who will see any snaps

agreed, that these two will be somewhat in the rotation, harder for McConnell as we still have Parker and King, but to be honest he may be able to work on the outside to, but he is not tall.

5'10 is NFL avg height for DB and most slots are right around that 5'10 height very few besides your Steve Smith Sr's work the outside. And to boot just because you are a certain height does NOT make you good, it just makes you look good on paper to the opposing team.

Like I said already, that is more my philosophy, having smaller guys inside to run either a sweep action from the slot or run something to the middle as a yardage option if there are no plays to the outside or even the deep middle with B.J., Dante, and probably AGG.

Two short, but great reads there Manson. I was unaware of the massive drop in turnovers from 2014-15 to 2015-16. Losing Hagen hurt more than even I realized.

I know we aren't doing bold predictions yet, but here are a couple.

Liberty wins the Big South outright
Masha is OPY
Liberty wins at least 9 games this year
Liberty hosts its first playoff game.
Gill is BS COY

I may be delirious, dehydrated and de-smarted from the dog days of summer, but I am pumped for this season!

Woodrum looked very much like a Senior Quarterback that had NFL hopes after FCS football. Watch the film, 45 yard passes into coverage were much more important to him than 6 yard check downs for first down. I am excited to have a QB that is interested in moving the chains and winning ball games more than he is interested in setting school records and being drafted.

I think Masha is just that kind of player; making the needed play versus worrying about "top ten" plays every down. He strikes me as much more "team focused" than Woodrum (which i think goes w/o saying). I also think he is inclined to make productive and LEVEL HEADED plays under pressure considering the legs he has under him. Woodrum would sometimes wither under pressure and Masha, IMO seems more gritty than that. I look forward to watching this kid get his chance. In short, as the old Al Pacino locker room speech goes......I believe Masha will fight for that inch!
