I feel bad that we lost, but at the end of the day we were no more than 2 plays away from a win and hosting Sam Houston this weekend. if we had won, I think we beat Sam Houston and move to next round, where ever that would have been.

I think if we did get that far the game would be in Fargo. Coastal is good but they aren't good/hot enough to beat the team that has lost one game in the past three years on their home turf.

I don't think we would have beaten them either, so it's not just me being a homer.

The third and 1 pass was not a good play. Yes, we had a hard time running the ball all night, but we gave away the fact that we were passing by coming out in an empty backfield set. Yes, we put Abnar in the backfield before the snap, but it was so obvious what we were going to do, I called it before way before the play began.
Worse was going for 2 so early in the game, changed so many things later.
They were by far the best tackling team we played all year.
Woodrum was hurting the last quarter or so, maybe that is why we chose to not run him when we should have.
Nasty weather for sure.
Good season, guys played hard, we should be back to the playoffs every year now. Really, Coastal is our only competition for the auto bid. We should be able to do much better than them based on our facilities, budget, etc. Hopefully this years playoff run will help us recruit some even better talent.
When does baseball start?

I just find it funny that I can think of a cpl of defining plays for the evening. I don't have a problem with the 2 pt conversion and here is the reason. It was right before the half, and we're up 19-14 so you go for the 2 to get 21. either way kicking one or going for 2 a xp WILL NOT make a difference. If they score its 20-14 and and xp still puts VU at even money by them going for 2 right before the half. Also VU were getting the ball back to start the half.

Just believe in 2 things, that if Dante runs the "stick" route to the proper depth its not 3rd and 1 its 1st and 10 drive alive, and no pass attempt to speak of. Last, would be even tho we kicked a fg on the drive, if Petey doesn't drop the pass in the endzone its a 2 possession ball game instead of 1. So many little things that were uncharacteristic of what they had done all year.

Way too early to be thinking the need to go for 2. Passing up a sure PAT at that point could very well make a difference later in a game.

Nova loses 34-31. Robertson out with a concussion. I would say it is highly unlikely it occurred in practice, so he must have had it on that last drive against us. Makes you wonder if their staff had any idea he may have been concussed at the time and whether he should have been in the game.

word was he had the symptons during week passed concussion protocols then on thursday or friday had some contact that brought symptons back and they pulled the plug on him.

Go figure @ ODU qb finishes game winning drive with concussion we lose, and not at VU qb finishes the same way, guess that means we are gonna have to tap them just a little bit harder next time. Calling coach Bill, more deeper squats that bring out more powerful hip thrust on explosion and follow thru on impact.
