I an glad the big south has gotten stronger. I just wish we were getting stronger as well. With that said it's going to be a very interesting conference season.

Monmouth is much improved, but I don't know if they are quite as good as their record shows. Their best win is Lehigh, who is bad this season.

In my opinion, Monmouth and GWU are very comparable in terms of talent and coaching, but I give a slight edge to GWU.

I know I sure enjoyed hearing the comments in the choir room at church this morning as word spread that we had beaten App State. The best one..."WOW! Liberty beat App State??? I guess they really ARE legit!" Love it!

Chuck south better enjoy the success this year, because I can't see Jamey Chadwell not getting a better gig after this season.

This weekend the Mountaineers host Liberty University in the Hey We're Winning A Game Oh Yeah This Is What Life Was Like In FCS So Why Did We Leave This Classic.

Dont crush the Liberty defense.... poor special teams decisions gave App State 2 touchdowns at least.... the opening on side kick, gives App the ball at midfield. the go for the 57 harder into the wind with a ton of time remaining, next play TD. College football is high scoring game now days fellas, except Bama & Arkansas where they don't pass the ball.

Don't give them easy field position and make them earn it --- that being said impressive win! App State living off the past, humble pie is being fed in Boone on a weekly occasion.

1) SJ called it, we win these types of games more often than not

2) Good win, and will provide some motivation going into the bye week.

3) Big South is good this year. It was much stronger when Stony Brook was here though.

Clearly the reason we pulled this out was the application of the soon to be patented "PAmedic Reverse Mojo"

after watching Dakota and the Fantastic Punt Return that Wasn't, I calmly finished my lager, shut off the TV and went outside to finish yardwork.

I went to bed, resolving to NOT watch the ticker- content to check here in the AM

PRESTO.

you're all welcome.

The defense gave up every touchdown except for the muffed punt.

Even if the opposing team is at the one yard line, the defense has to find a way to force a field goal. 81.8% of the time that the opposing team gets in the redzone against us, they score (FG or TD). We've got to get that percentage lower.

If defense ever catches up with offense, or even just get them in their sights, we be unbeatable.

Does anyone know how long the injured defensive players are out ?

Yes blue, most of the time it will be the Defense that gives up points, lol.

This is what I like most about the game, in my 3 years watching, rooting. It was the first time that we completed that slant pass in the most crucial of situations, not only to catch it but score. There have been so many games, where in some form or fashion we have tried to seal a game, or win a game or keep a potential game winning drive going, where we have thrown that slant pattern, and it didn't work.

Where did you get that 81.8% statistic from? Most red zone scoring % stats I see DO NOT include FG's... The max distance of a FG when the team was in the red zone is 37 yards, which most kickers can make nearly 80-90% of the time nowadays. If your stat includes FG's, then I say 81.8% is not all that bad a number, especially when we compare it with some of the other schools in the Big South, who haven't played the level of competition we have this season.

Up to this point, I think it can be argued that of all our peers in the BSC, we have had the hardest schedule by far... You all can say what you want about the win over App St. being ugly, but to go somewhere else and win a game like that the way we did is a huge positive for our program. Especially when you consider the injuries at LB that we have. App St. may be having a down year, but they are not that far removed from having a pretty great program and they do have far more scholarships to spread around now than we do.

No doubt that CSU and CCU will be tough games this year. However, we have some good things going for us right now that are positive signs for the remainder of the season... Woodrum is playing some really well lately. His touch on the deep ball the past two games against pretty good competition has been on point. Also, it seems as though the WR's showed some fortitude and corrected the drop issues they had in previous games. Catching the ball the way they did at App St... under the lights and in the mist is good.

What are you talking about?

He said that ST decisions gave App. State two TDs at least. That is obviously false. Just because the other team starts at our 38 yard line line or their own 40 doesn't mean that we have to let them have points. Let alone one play drives for TDs.

To think we have had the hardest schedule in the league is laughable. We've played a DII and a partial scholarship team.

Blue Jacket --

of course the defense gave up the TD's -- but when you are playing on the road and you go for on sides kick to start the game and don't get it who gets the momentum?? whats the attitude of your defense running on the field... its psychological more than anything...

read between the lines sometimes dude....

No one was shocked by the onside kick. You might have been surprised, but everyone on that sideline knew that that was coming if the opportunity presented itself. Heck, we ran the exact play that the Colts did on Thursday Night Football two days before.....

That was a brilliant, aggressive adjustment by the coaching staff that attacked App. State's weaknesses on STs. It didn't work out for us on that play. But that failure is no excuse for the defense to give up a touchdown on App. State's first offensive play of the game, just like it wasn't an excuse for giving up another TD on App. State's first play after the missed field goal.
