DId some research and it is the first game with red helmets since the season finale in 1999 (Sam Rutigliano's last game at Liberty head coach)

I was initially appalled at such a color choice but after seeing it for a few minutes I was kinda digging it. It could have been a little better, possibly white numbers and I'm not really a fan of the blue on the pants but overall, I'm surprised that it looks good. As long as the players and recruits are happy with it, I'm happy with it.

After all red ... tonight was my second least favorite color combo! From my seat ... player numbers were very hard to read. But, I can tolerate the ugly uni's if the teams continues to win!

yeah the lids looked pink-ish.

and I don't like red/blue.

but evidently the kids do so the rest of us can pound sand and let them be happy.

if we win by 30 everytime we wear them I say switch.

These new helmets are nice but they all need a stripe down the middle. And I agree the red on red with the logo and helmet looks off, replace it with white and a blue trim.

I think the logo would stand out more on the read helmet with white letters. I think the helmet decal should match the color of the numbers.

Overall, I thought the helmets looked good. It took me a bit to get use to the uniform combination, but I did. I'm still a fan no matter what!

I hope ODU wears their new matted finish Helmets when we play them. They just showed them on espn's SVP& Russillo, those things are sick. I like how they have the entire shape of the state of VA on the side with the Monarch in the middle.

If there are 3 options for each article of the uniform then there are 27 possible combinations - 3 x 3 x 3 = 27. Maybe some are "banned" as in they will never wear those combinations, but it's a simple math problem. 1 helmet x 3 shirts x 3 pants = 9 combos for each helmet. 3 helmets x 9 combos = 27 total.

this makes me think we are going w/ red, blue and white pants, red, blue and white jerseys, and red or white lids.

3x3x2 = 18
