Real quick. Did anyone else notice something different about Matt Bevins kickoffs? Usually they are in the end zone consistently. That night, they maybe went to the 10 yd line.

Their coach has a lot more things to worry about than fireworks going off during the game.

My two cents on the fireworks, and the boss (wife) and I talked the subject to death on the drive back home:
I was stunned that it happened. The reason doesn't matter. It was a disservice to BOTH teams, a distracting sideshow for personnel and fans alike.
jcmanson wrote:If it was a known rule, which it appears to be the case, there's a couple options for us:

1. Start the game 6 leaving plenty of time for fireworks after the game
2. Do fireworks at halftime
3. Don't do fireworks
Exactly.

It was pretty intense when they were going off at both endzones....hope there were no war vet's in the stands, that might have caused flashbacks or something

They obviously need to look into this ordinance and amend it stating that if you own X amount of acres noise ordinances dont apply to you. It cant really be X amount of feet from residential because there are residents living in Liberty Ridge, although it is LU land. Seems like the language could be a little tricky but I think it's possible.

So you could simply say Lynchburg residents then, although there is still the town houses by Movies 10.

BUMP

WSET reported tonight that the Lynchburg Fire Marshall reversed the 10:00 ban of fireworks at LU. Also reported was that LU doesn't have any more night home games this year.

Who would have thunk it...
Lynchburg, VA - A Liberty University fireworks show has sparked a change in Lynchburg's fireworks policy.

The fallout comes from last weekend's football game, when the school started its fireworks show during the game. It was still in the fourth quarter. They say they had to, to beat the city's 10:00 p.m. deadline.

But it turns out, there is no city limit on fireworks. It's not an official city law, just an unofficial policy.
