FCS teams dont even register as a blip on their newswire...I mean this has been talked up and down on here for almost a week now and not even a byline on ESPN.com.

Yeah close the thread so that we don't have to be reminded about this terrible decision and the horribly run PR campaign that has tried to get us to drink the kook Aid. If we can just eliminate all discussion on the topic the public will just forget it and sweep it, we can sweep it under the rug and "move on".

How quickly we forget JMU reinstated three guys right before they played us who were indicted by a grand jury for malicious wounding aka stabbing some guy. So let's not be so quick to act like this doesn't happen elsewhere. Now the difference of course were that the charges were dropped, so if the charges get dropped for Asa we can all move on, if not well then we will just recycle this thread!

You answered yourself. The charges were dropped BEFORE they were reinstated. I'd like for you to find me another institution where an athlete was reinstated with felony charges still pending.

For the record, they didn't stab anybody....they allegedly beat him so bad it was felonious (malicious wounding by mob). I think it ultimately came out that this was just a fight, it just happened to be a fight with a group of football players.

Incidentally, one of the four (our starter at safety) was kicked off the team completely after being arrested for public swearing and intoxication while suspended from the team.

I would have no issue with Chapman's situation if the charges were dropped and he was reinstated after that.

According to his interview this AM DR said that "If I didn't think he did anything wrong, I wouldn't have suspended him". But most intersting was he wanted to "let the process run its course" before reinstating him. HAS the process run its course? I didn't know the charges had been dropped or Asa had been acquitted. OR what exactly is the definition of the "process" that ran its course? Is this the same new process that we can find in the new but as yet unpublished Liberty Way?

he was on WLNI this morning. I don't think he helped himself at all, and actually played the victim a bit. He also got into the reasoning "he didn't hurt anyone else, only himself....and me *sniff*sniff*". Maybe he just wasn't ready for the interview (which I can't imagine), but it didn't help things.

And like has been said ad nauseum on here, they keep incorrectly using "grace" as a cover, and in my opinion creating a big pile for them to step in.
