It was PeterParker's request to try the Seahawks design. I like it too, really sticks out better.

Thanks for citing me flamesfanva...your skillful touch makes the idea look good. The only other mod I could think of would be to take the flame tail on the bottom that stops short and extend it to the back also for symmetry (three sweeping tails back) and maybe thickening the red tribal lines and the "tails" as they sweep back. Also I wonder what your design mod might look like using the dorm 10 style with the white filler. I could get on baord with the new logo if they did something like this.

I also think that a Red Facemask would sinc well with the red logo (especially if used like Dorm 10 mod or the line style that Flamesfanva put on the mock up) or mimicking the seahawks again by going with a same color helmet/facemask combo. I think the logo looks better on the helmet without the Liberty script on it IMO.

You wouldn't want it TOO much like another team to where people begin to identify your identity with another team's.

I wouldn't change the actual tribal flame logo other than just dropping the script and the bottom two flames, exactly what is painted around DeMoss, otherwise we get once again into the branding issue. Although we can throw out all sorts of ideas and I think it's cool to do that, I sometimes forget that we must remember that we are trying to brand one style of logo for right now until Proto unveils a secondary.

I agree with the branding thing although I think that the logo without the script and the bottom two flames under the "Liberty" should be omitted on the helmet as you have presented it and additionally I think that extending that Tribal line that sits just above the lettering and stops at the "B" to sweep back with the other two lines that sweep around the back of the helmet isn't too drastic of a departure from the "official" logo nor would it detract from the one brand, one identity concept. It is merely a minor mod for the helmet...it provides a certain symmetry to the visual to have the length of that tribal line extended back.

Two quick things:

1. Is the design of a proto created secondary logo on the table?

2. Since we seem to have come to somewhat of a happy medium on the logo mod for the helmet, ideas for color schemes, helmet/facemask contrasts, etc.

No!! We have a new player on the practice field right now who's wearing a red chinstrap and it looks ridiculous w/ the blue helmet. I don't want to imagine the effect magnified on an entire facemask.

Interesting idea but the helmet and facemask are forced in multiple directions during any given football play. A lot of things could happen in, for instance, a dogpile on a fumble or even just standard line play. I don't see the possible safety benefits from this outweighing the safety benefits of the current facemask.

i like the red facemask, and i also like how champ looks with the red chin strap. i think bringing out the red looks really good. i also like how the aztecs have that fade on the helmet. im just different i guess. i like the new school looks.

I like your post with red logo offset with the White Lowlights around the lines; I think the stripe looks good, they could also use the double stripe that goes about 1/3 of the back and are pointed. (I think they the used something like it for awhile.) Also, here's a slightly different mod on the helmet logo that incorporates the logo with modified script:
