If you look on their site, American Choppers site, they do have a bike they did called the Liberty Bike which I believe they did for 4th of July or something like that, but they actually have the verse that LU uses, "Where the Spirit...." on the tale of the bike; it's almost could be an LU bike. Given the admin. affinity for choppers, always was surprised they didn't try that. That is a great idea but the Motorcycle Posse is no longer with the school. Lovett is in TN, Borek is....who cares, so that just leaves Mark Hines!!! Would love to see him tool around campus in that thing!

I'm sure they have control over a lot of important marketing aspects of our school but somethings, like all of our merchindise, the bookstore is in charge of. And they don't seem to have a problem ordering everything under the sun with 100 different logos in every color imaginable. I think we need someone or some organization in charge of everything in relation to this so that there's 1 clear direction we're taking.I think you hit it right on. Everytime I inquire at the bookstore, I'm told they must please everyone and so order anything and everything. I bought a nice looking cap from Universal T's and a bookstore employee said she liked it. I told her that the bookstore needed to carry items like this cap and then she turned cold and said that they couldn't carry everything with the athletic logo. Maybe not, but my $ go into buying items with it, so Universal T's see more of my $. Maybe they should put both Proto and Universal T's in charge and see a coherent marketing strategy and an increase in merchandise sales.

Everything from a pack of eagles (I don't think such a thing exists) to "oh, it's a type of eagle". But it just isn't true. Flames is literally fire and comes from our motto "knowledge aflame". Both Flames and the eagle were chosen by students long ago. I believe the eagle was chosen as the mascot because it represents liberty. The word liberty.
