Last night was the concert that started during the football game. We've talked about it way too much already, but several of us knew that this would happen. Sucks, but what can you do?

Congratulations to the fans in the stands. LU and the community is finally seeing football games as an event to go to regardless of how the team is doing. That is taking the next step to something special. Could we average more than stadium capacity (12,000) all season long? That would be a great statement and recruiting tool for the program!

6. I love the idea of the L-U chant being the precursor to the team coming out on the field. I think it should be quiet though (PA wise) and that the cheerleaders should, well, cheer -lead. Put half on the baptist side with L's and the other half on the student side with U's. As soon as the team hits the field the band can do their thing, but until then, they should be yelling too. Dr. Kerr should come up with some creative way to get them involved in the LU cheer as well. Let's say 17K do show up, and we can make this happen. Holy crap that would be sick.

I agree completely. It needs to be just signs and no PA. The PA during that section was absolutely horrible. Everyone around me was laughing.

when my brother and I saw that stupid kid standing outside the tunnel we both said "oh no" at the same time....I am not sure there is a more annoying kid....then we had all those other kids jumping around like idiots...I was embarrassed....like someone said, just have half the cheerleaders on one side with L's and half of them on the other with U's and see how that goes

(1) go to Dick's Sporting Goods & spend $5 on one of those inflatable seat cushions (they were perfectly for the red seats)
(2) buy your wife a nice dinner at the game (even if you miss seeing 2 TDs)--recommend the BBQ chicken sandwich
(3) every time a drink vender comes by, ask your wife if she wants another drink
(4) carry 2 jackets--one for you and one for your wife, and give her the hoodie to keep warm
(5) on especially cold nights, keep your wife filled with hot chocolate or coffee.
(6) bring a blanket on really cold nights
(7) make your wife a hot drink, once you get home and thank her (several times) for going to the game with you

Wasn't bad at all. It was thrown a little behind Wynton. Wynton caught it and the LB/DB came in and just grabbed it from him as he was tucking it.

We have one of the inflatable seat cushions, and she is comfortable as far as seating goes.
I let her know she can buy ANY food she wants at the game.
She would have had hot chocolate last night but the concessions stands said they didn't have any.
We generally do bring a blanket, but forgot it last night.

Regardless of the opponent,LU played well last night. I am so proud that LU has given its team first class support even in our worst years. Did anyone notice that SF drove from PA getting here 2 hours before gametime, played the game, got what looked to be meager(compared with ours) box suppers, got on the bus (2 not 3) and went back home. Shame on SF mamagement. If they can't support their team better than that drop down a few divisions or drop the program. Except for our visitors locker room (which is still better than many) LU is first class. Too often our players our players don't acknowledge these extras. If I was the LU coach I'd jam them in 1 1/2 buses, give them 1 sub imstead of two and let the third bus run empty after a sorry lackluster effort. Not really but the thought has crossed my mind more than once.

See, things like this would be eliminated by careful planning in the coutship process. I found a woman who is a bigger spors fan than I am, so I NEVER have to worry about junk like that. She's usually more pumped for a game than I am.

I figured it was shown on the Liberty Channel, but I have DirecTV which doesn't include the Liberty Channel with its local stations. I was glad to hear that DRL was going to carry the games, but I guess that has changed.

Its even better when there's a delay so they can shovel the lines clear on the field, and you can plug the opponents (Cowboys, Giants or Redskins) with iceballs .

I've seen more games in 30-40 degree weather than 60-70 degrees. Where's H'BURG, ROCKET and JIM to back me up on this?

By the end of the night... "It's so cold. I'm glad I brought this sweatshirt. When can we leave? The wind is freezing."

I was fine in a long-sleeved t-shirt, but when it came to the woman, I just nodded my head and said "Okay. Uh huh." and that sort of thing.
