Thanks for coming by Kaplan. It should be fun no doubt. I do think our defense will be able to SLOW you guys down, not stop you, but slow you down. That's what we need to do. Just because we gave up two touchdowns to two D2 teams means nothing. Our defense is better than VMI's you can book that, and Phillips won't go up against a player this year better than Redd.

William and Mary 56 Liberty 14 - I think W&M's offense is for real and I don't see why they let up here with Liberty coming to town. Phillips appears to have found a groove and I think he continues it in a blowout win - besides, as long as it's non-conference, W&M rules the night at home! ;)
W&M 48 Liberty 3
Upset special---
Liberty over WM - Last year, WM won by just one, Liberty should be improved and are probably the favorites to win the Big South (which isn't saying much).
W&M 52 Liberty 21 - easy W for the tribe
WM beats liberty so bad that the shockwaves come to bridgeforth. For the first time in history, a team beats two teams at once. Rodney landers begins whimpering after lord phillips throws for 100 touchdowns. William and mary is so good, its sickening, i just wish i could be a kaplan krazie!

SJ, let's not act like tribe fans said that. I am assuming it is UD/JMU/GMU fans on the football general board?

Make sure the team sees the person who picked LU, too.

Yea it's the Football board, which I can't sign onto because the CAA boards have gone to complete crap. Can't login, can't register for a new name, can't do anything.

Oh, it was just the other teams, considering you picked a 14 point win.

Here's what I would've posted if the CAA boards didn't suck:
Let's look at last year's stats between W&M and Liberty. LU rushed for 145 yards more than W&M, even with our top runner getting hurt 5 minutes into the 3rd quarter. He had 186 yards through 2+ quarters. He had 100 in the first half.

W&M is throwing the ball better this year, we all know that. Last year they didn't even throw for 100 against Liberty.

Liberty had the ball 12 minutes longer than W&M.

The thing is, Liberty left 10 points on the board by two missed FGs, a blocked FG, and a blocked PAT. With a new kicker this year, we don't have to worry about the misses as much. The kid you ran through W&M's defense like a knife through butter last year is back after a two game suspension and, unless he's horse-collared again, will likely run through W&M's defense again.

I'm not going to compare stats between the games so far this year because W&M played Delaware who is vastly superior to anyone Liberty has played. Liberty's played two DIIs and the stats are skewed both ways due to the offense playing against DII competition and the second team defense giving up yardage in garbage time.

Am I saying LU will win this game? No, I'm not. Liberty's OL has to step up to how it was last year (starting right tackle and team captain has been out the first two games) and we've got to get the passing game off the ground. Our secondary is improved, but W&M has a very, very good passing game. With that being said, Liberty has a very, very good running game. If LU is able to control the clock, and continue to improve the passing game, I think we have a great shot at winning this. The blowouts that people on here are predicting are funny. We're not little ole Liberty anymore. We've got one of the top coaching staffs in Virginia. We have the best operations center in the state, including the biggest weightroom in the state to go along with an NFL strength coach.

I'm not guaranteeing an LU win. If LU wins, I don't think it'll be a blowout. If W&M wins, it won't be a blowout. This should be a close game, and a lot better than many of you are expecting.

Let me also point out the LU has received more votes in the AGS poll both weeks. I don't think we should be ranked, but apparently the entire country isn't as stupid as the CAA posters.

W&M has yet to give us credit for last year when we essentially handed them the game.

Nobody has given you credit? I am the only one who has commented on Liberty, and I give you guys credit constantly.

Let's not pretend that because LU has 11 votes and W&M has 6 the game outcome will be changed.

W&M threw for less than 100 yards against you guys last year, and now our QB is throwing for 300+ per game. The game is at home. W&M is +47 in point differential against 2 I-AA teams including a top 15 or so team(I think?) and LU is +45 against 2 DII teams. Tribe is now at home, which I believe statistically is a 6 point swing. Tribe has scored 91 points in the last 6 quarters. If W&M stops, or even slows the run, I believe they'll win by 2 TD's or so.

You beat VMI. LCA could beat VMI. Mike Rocco would throw for 250 on them. Delaware gave up 230 yards in the air to friggin West Chester. You've played two teams that gave up a lot of yards in the air.

Then again, with Delaware, it was pretty much a "Ok, we'll let you score because you couldn't stop a baby with one leg running through the line." situation.

I beg of someone to make me a coolaid emoticon for these kind of crazy remarks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
VMI and Delaware!
Very close game that will come right down to the end!

Yes Liberty has Vince Redd, but poeple are failing to see the new additions to the LU secondary. Kent Hicks is starting to pick up his game as he had 10 Tackles last game. I really like the way Ryan Best plays also. He seems to be a very solid Safety and seems to get more playing time every week. I won't be surprised if he ends up starting for the Flames soon. Do remember he took an interception for a touchdown in the first week, and the kid can hit like a truck. The more these two play, the tougher the secondary is going to become. These are two kids from D-I programs, and Best has played at the D-I level for Virginia. I expect Liberty's defense to do damage against W&M.

Let's be serious-- VMI and Delaware? Our third string puts up 60 on VMI.

Our entire team has experience at the DI level since we are DI.

Best and Hicks are good, but we shouldn't give them credit without giving the home grown guys credit. The two Pats both have interceptions and Greiser has laid out about 20 people so far.

Let's be serious -- Liberty has scored 45 points in the last two seasons against VMI. LU's third string would lose by three touchdowns to VMI.

I agree with Chris. However, and I think Chris might agree, VMI's worse this year than they've been in a long time.

jon, you are coming across like people are giving too much credit to the transfers. everyone loves vince and he has affected every game though you may not see it on the stat sheet. the little things sometime mean a lot as im sure you know. but you were quick to toot hursky's horn. then the poster brings up hicks and best who are quality additions, but you bring up the pats. everyone is getting their due and no one is getting slighted IMO. we need all these guys so we can do big things this year.im sure the guys could care less who gets the attention as long as they win. in regards to all the posters on this AGS board...who cares...we know what we have and if true tribe fans know anything about football, they know this will be a very good game.

Smoothie, the reason I bring up our guys who have been here is because no one talks about them. They deserve just as much credit as the transfers. A lot of people on this board harp on the transfers and make it look like we wouldn't be good without said transfers. I just like to point out that we've got some great players here even before the transfers. I bring up Hursky because he's been our best defensive player two games in a row. I bring up the Pats because they also had interceptions, just like the transfers. Our starters, like most at our level, are just as good, if not better, than these guys transferring in. There's a reason Dickerson and Greiser are starting over Best. That's not saying Best isn't good, just that our safeties that we had were very good to begin with. I don't like how anytime someone mentions "Liberty Football" the first thing is the transfers. Our strongest O-lineman was a Liberty home grown player. Our starting QB is. Every single one of our receivers is. We've got people on here like Steve who are begging for more transfers and saying they'd be more comfortable if we had more transfers. Those type of people are the ones I'm talking about.

That was me that predicted the LU win on the CAA board (and included the jab about the BSC) ;)

I really think the other CAA fans are assuming you guys are another VMI, and clearly you're not. You guys have improved for the past 3 or 4 years and WM would be wise to respect that.

Oh, and the "shockwave" post was done with a heavy dose of sarcasm by another JMU fan poking fun at Kaplan - don't take that one too seriously.

Jon, sorry you can't get back on the CAAZone, you're one of our best OOC posters over on the JMU board.
