Sly Fox? This was a little trash talking? Maybe not good trash talking, but trash talking. When I see a , game on.

OK, maybe we were a little harsh. PAMedic back off, he is small and Feeble:)

Dont Back Off Medic... He not only thinks we cant win, he then talks trash about our team, and now hes talking about our tailgating, he deserves much, much worse. :D

The folks over on the D2football board seem to think we have our hands full:

Thread on Tusculum @ Liberty

Yeah, they have a different setup for their posts with the most recent at the top. It takes a minute to get the hang of it.

This is what those Bengal dudes said last year. Was that St. Pauls? We stomped them 27-0 and they didn't get a further shalacking because of the poor weather. I do "expect a game" from them. Even an easy win is by definition "a game".

I'm not surprised by other team's fans thinking this way at all. We were 1-10 2 years ago, and only 6-5 last year with a relatively weak schedule. Why should they think we are much better?

We all know how good we can be this year, it's up to the boys to prove it. I don't care if we win 100-0 or 3-0 as long as we win. Which we will no problem.

Well if we can't beat the supposed 5th best team from a D2 conference, then

Getting close to a month away from kickoff! Sep 1 can't get here soon enough!

I'm not sure when they put on there, but today was the first time I saw that on the libertyflames.com website they have a countdown to the game.

Next Wednesday is officially one month before the 2007 Season opener (and the debut of the largest freshman class that I have seen in the Liberty University Marching Band)

So shouldn't Super be beginning his "what are you bringing to the tailgate" thread? :tailgate
There are many topics to be covered, starting with...

Mrs. Scar's cookies
Scar's favorite brand of ketsup
Scar's favorite kind of rolls
Scar's favorite diet drink from Krogers
Jim's ice cold sweet cider
Super's reserving our spot with with his tailgating mobile
Smoothy's hillbillly golf
Bryson's needing to retrieve said hillbilly golf balls out of the trees
(and ending with) Mrs. Scar's cookies :P

We'll do tailgating stuff about a week before the game. That's really when we finalized everything last time.

i hope we dont score more than 42 points................... and taking a stab at what touchdown celebrations will be like at sold out williams stadium, we might want to save some of the older folks vocal cords for the upcoming home contests........... only 75 season tickets left!!!!! thats great......... GO FLAMES!!!

Like I mentioned earlier, I think we will see a pretty vanilla offense and possibly defense during games one and two. Don't think we want to show many tendancies to Bill and Mary before we play them. I expect a game where we end up winning by close to 21 points unless we score 60 running between the tackles. Less than 2 weeks.

GO FLAMES!!!!!

The SAC columnist for d2football.com has a great rundown of TC as part of his overall SAC preview:
Tusculum

Tusculum is going to have an exciting team in 2007. The Pioneers are blessed with speed, athleticism, and size. When the Pioneers put everything in place, all opponents in Division II must take notice. After scaring North Alabama early in the year, TC went on to defeat Catawba on the road and nearly pulled out a Newberry win, but a Derrell Mills 40-yard fumble return gave the Pioneers a painful loss. A daunting schedule awaits Frankie DeBusk's crew as they must travel to Charletson (WV), travel to FCS member Liberty, and then travel to North Alabama. The one SAC team that could pull off this road trip is the tremendously talented Tusculum team (don't you love alliteration?). The tenth year head coach has vowed to bring the spread offense back to Greeneville, Tennessee, when it worked wonders in previous years. The air show is back at Tusculum once again.

The makeover for TC on offense will be felt immediately as former Missouri-Rolla offensive coordinator Marc Kolb has teamed up with DeBusk. At Rolla, Kolb's Miner team led the nation in passing offense at the Division II level and was in the top 20 in many significant offensive categories. Junior quarterback Corey Russell will throw for more than his 1,575 yard total in 2006 if everything goes according to plan. Make no mistake about it though, All-SAC first team running back Patrick King will not be ignored in the offense. At 6'0 220, the senior ran for over 500 yards and will be joined by Randy Wilson in the backfield. Wilson was the Pioneers leading rusher two seasons ago and looks to make an impact in 2007. Jarmichael Caldwell had 647 yards off of 43 catches and seven touchdowns. The 6'1 210 lbs first team All-SAC senior will need big games in the non-conference portion of the schedule for Tusculum to get the season going right. Manuel Dickson will help anchor a busy offensive line this season.

There is not a better defense in the SAC than what Tusculum is expected to field in 2007. Take your pick of who rules the defense for the black and orange. Is it 6'1 255 lbs NFL prospect defensive end Adrian Samples, a first team All-SAC selection? Or is it defensive back Octavis Love who was announced as a first team All-SAC as both a defender and a return man. He is similar to Ricardo Colclough in many ways for the Pioneers, though he may not have his speed. TC was hit hardest at linebackers with Rodney Peebles, Derrick Jones, and Kenny Wells gone. The 6'3 235 lbs Justin Scott will be relied upon to make up for the loss at the position in 2007. Rynel Butler will not sneak up on anybody this fall after his nine tackles for loss and three sack effort last season. The duo of Love and Tagon Richard will be similar to that of the Donald Brown - David Jones pair from Wingate. Senior Pharis Baldwin can be counted upon for pass break ups, he had five of them last year.

John Gregory is back to punt for the Pioneers and will play a crucial role in high pressure environments at Liberty and North Alabama. DeBusk will be without the clutch services of Glen Black this fall, but Justin Higgins is predicted to fill the spot.

Just a reminder that TC opens there season a week before us. They are at the University of Charleston ... that's the one in Wild & Wonderful West Virginia ... Cider Jim and pbow could've told you that already.

The game starts at 1pm and it should give us an idea of how potent their new pass happy offense is under the offensive coordinator who led Division II's top passing attack a year ago at Missouri-Rolla.

I drive past the University of Charleston's field every time I visit my parents. It's in downtown Charleston, right on I-77, and I ran track there in high school in the '70s when it was called Laidley Field. For the really old timers, the University of Charleston used to be called Morris Harvey College. Their football stadium in honestly about the size of LU's but with a track around it and with astro turf.

FYI--I hate it, but West Virginia has changed its state motto from "Wild and Wonderful" to "We're Open for Business."
