An interesting read at how this year's alignment would have looked like next year. Top four rated teams get bye into second round. Highest ranked teams in first round gets to pick venue for their game. Don't know if that entails choosing their own bowls to play the game in or if they have option to host on their own field.

I was reading an ESPN article Saturday about how Bo Nix was asked if he was playing in the bowl game and he was dodging the question and wasn't really answering the question directly. You pretty much read the writing on the wall. Within 24 hours, he wants to play and is excited about the bowl game. What changed? I'm not that familiar with these NIL deals, but I'm wondering if there is something in some of these deals where they have to play the entire season, including the bowl :?: or Oregon didnt want a replay of what happened to USC last year with Tulane

My understanding is that teams can play at their home venue or a nearby venue of their choosing. If I remember correctly Ohio states coach has mentioned preferring to play in Indianapolis so they don't have to play in sub freezing weather which seems soft to me. Penn state has already mentioned that their stadium isnt capable of hosting a game that late in the season because pipes would freeze or something like that. It wouldn't surprise me if Georgia would prefer to play at the falcons stadium. I assume there is more money to be made at an NFL stadium.

Good morning Liberty fans!

Wanted to stop by and congratulate you on an incredible season. I don't know much about Liberty U other than our Coach follows your coach and says he is really on top of things but I am looking forward to learning.

I have followed the Ducks since I attended school there in the early 90's and those were some lean football years in our history. Interestingly enough, the only bowl game I have attended is when we played Colorado in the Fiesta Bowl-- I think that was 2003 but my memory fails at times.

Tempe is a fun time and I hope all that travel there have a wonderful time and experience a game where both teams are passionate, coaching is well done, and the players all remain healthy.

I would love to share what I know about Oregon as well as learn about Liberty, but if my presence on your board offends anyone I will happily bow out. College ball is great, and I try to be a good fan.

PS I don't know how to respond to specific posts. One or two were talking about Bo Nix and his statements about whether he would play in a bowl game after our loss to our hated rival, the Huskies, then his statement yesterday that he was playing, and the speculation about padding stats or whatever. Bo's announcement came before the selection committee matched us up with anyone I think. It wasn't targeted at ya'll. He justs loves college ball and I don't think he wants his career with Oregon to end with a loss to Washington. He encouraged our other seniors and NFL prospects to play as well, but so far none of them have announced whether they will play.

Welcome "Visting Duck"!

The Flames are excited for this Bowl even if the geography and opponent is not desirable. Geography for obvious reasons. The Peach Bowl in Atlanta would have been much easier for Liberty fans to travel. Opponent - I personally think Liberty matches up terribly against Oregon. The Ducks are simply too explosive on offense and the Achilles heel of Liberty is our secondary giving up big passing plays.

The strength of Liberty is our rushing attack behind a massive 320 lbs. Offensive Line. If Liberty can control the clock with the run game we can avoid embarrassment. We have to limit Oregon possessions. would be nice if we could ball hawk and pick off a few passes. It is essential that Liberty win the turnover battle.

Welcome! You are more than welcome to hang out with us. We are really nice people (other than @thepostman he’s kinda weird :D ) Any insight you can give us would be great. I good number of us will travel out there so it should be fun. I do speak for all of us when I say we are concerned for Bo. Turf Toe is a real possibility and we would hate for his NFL prospects to be hindered because of this type of nagging injury. So for his best interests he should probably sit out.

I like this idea. The only downside is that it could be viewed as copying the team you're directly going against, but I think the fun outweighs the downside.

There is next to zero shot new unis are coming for the bowl game unless nike steps in. We aren't a direct nike school. we work through BSN which is notoriously terrible at being a 3rd party vendor.

I have a pretty thick skin, so sounds like we should be good.

Just a word of caution, like just about every school, we have a small subset of really poor fans. I apologize in advance.

Most of us would welcome you into our tailgate and have some good natured rivalry prodding. But there are some that are simply feral. And it's only gotten worse as we've had some success.

The travel is part of the fun so long as airfare cooperates. Tempe is a lot of fun if you end up going there.

I saw your roster last night and the size of your line jumped out at me. It sounds like you simply have bulldozers up there. We rotate our Dline pretty often, but it will be interesting to see how all of them match up against your Clydesdales.

Our offense is a lot of fun to watch. We may be out our stud receiver Franklin if he opts out but Tez Johnson (Bo's adopted brother) is electric. Our primary running back Bucky Irving may opt out as well but I prefer his backup Jordan James.

Sounds like we are in the same boat with defensive backs. Both starters are injured and there has been no report if they will be okay in time to play. We are trying to develop a team where "next man up" is a real thing. We are making good progress, but I wish I had more confidence in the backup corners.

Bo better have a pretty hefty Christy's policy in place for sure. As long as he seems to have played NCAA, he should be getting close to collecting SSI, so he has that backup.

I really hope Kendy is ready by then and that our defense is well prepared or it’s going to be a loooong night.
No longer than the night half the PAC 12 had against them. I think we'll do fine.

Visiting Duck, Welcome! :welcome

Ballcoach is our most opinionated poster, and he has already commented negatively on your team's uniforms, and I'm sorry for that.

Two quick facts about LU football:
1. We lead the nation in rushing.
2. We lead the nation in interceptions.

Please keep the posts coming! We want to hear from Ducks fans!

You and I can agree on this, but the kids (and recruits) absolutely love it.

It's one of those signs that my time is passed and it is a younger world.
You've already proven yourself to be far more advanced than ballcoach!
