We were in on several transfers this spring that we didn't get for various reasons. It wasn't for a lack of trying. The coaching staff added about 40 new scholarship players in 6 months.I assumed it was just a different recruiting philosophy than what we are used to rather than a lack of effort. I figured chadwell just felt comfortable with what we have going in to next season and wanted to save those scholarships for the 2024 high school class so he can start building for the future when he has more time to evaluate players. Knowing we have 6 scholarships because we couldn't get who we wanted rather than it being a deliberate choice doesn't help my concerns about depth at certain positions but this type of thing is to be expected with a new coach. At least we are off to a great start with the 2024 recruiting class.

SEC and Big 10 will have scouts at G5 games looking for potential transfers. We develop them, they swipe them, then we get a few impatient P5 level athletes who just want to play - transferring in. Good times...

Especially for players in the secondary. I think it's relatively easy for coaches to get All-22 tape so they can see everyone but even then you can't see how players interact with their coaches and teammates off the field, especially when things aren't going their way.
I’m really excited, obviously, about Coach Chadwell, playing our inaugural season in Conference USA. I think our fans are, as well. We are seeing that in terms of season ticket renewals at a really high clip. We are right on about the same pace we were a year ago, and obviously that was a schedule with BYU and Virginia Tech playing at home.https://www.aseaofred.com/qa-with-liber ... -football/

Water fountains turned off. Long lines and complaints about drunks.I wonder if the $35 ticket to sit in the upper deck student side keeps some away? The Baptist side was full but the upper deck on the students other side mostly empty.
We need to get our attendance up to 25k.

The ushers would need to closely check seat alignments to prevent those with discounted tickets from moving to higher priced seating.TH Spangler wrote: ↑September 6th, 2023, 4:48 pm I just read a App State FB post.
