Of course, that’s not to say there isn’t more competition at QB now going into Week #2.

It's not like the turf monster got him and he coughed it up. The ball got punched by an ACC player on his second live play since playing FCS ball. There is a very real difference in competition there. We all saw it, Mack was not alone in getting a little man handled by superior talent.
I can recognize that the fumble was costly but still give credit to the defense. The ball didn't come out by accident, it was sought after and good fundamentals pulled it out.
Maybe Mack carries the ball a little different now, but we didn't pull Buck after two picks, why are we benching Mack after his first fumble?
