Rooster Cogburn wrote:In fairness, a lot of those routes to BJ were timing routes that take time. He did make one great catch across the middle and show flair and speed to get to the EZ. Turner looked great and Brown did as well.
That's the BJ I remember watching and reading about (and honoring on my show). I think he had quite a few long TDs for LCA. If he can be that extra "home run" option for us, he is going to do some real damage much like PK did before him.

It's just an observation from one night 2 weeks before the season. I mean woodrum was awful and I'm not worried about him. Just an observation for those that couldn't go.

If he is able t hang on to the ball and run crisp routes, his upside is exceptionally high.

That's funny that he didn't like Cal U's program because that's where Grant Jones is. They have solid program until last year when 6 "athletes" got kicked off team for attacking a "townie" and they forfeited 1 game and lost their last game (59-49) keeping them out of the playoffs. They finished 8-3 and are perennially in the playoffs.

Is Queen gone for disciplinary reasons, or did he see the writing on the wall in terms of PT ? Chris had him slotted as back up Center , and Duff has been playing well.
CENTER
1. Lucas Holder (6-4, 280, So.)

2. Richard Queen (6-3, 280, rSo.)

3. Dontae Duff (6-1, 322, Fr.)
There are three players in the mix right now: sophomore Lucas Holder, sophomore transfer Richard Queen (UMass) and true freshman Dontae Duff. It’s not often a true freshman comes into college with a Division I-ready body, but Duff may buck that trend. He’s already 322 pounds and played his prep football in ultra-competitive Texas.

From what I've heard, Queen just sort of quit. I don't think it's anything disciplinary. And I've heard they really don't want to use Duff unless it's an emergency. It's extremely rare for a true freshman to be able to contribute as an offensive lineman.

With injuries and defections the OL is really thin and inexperienced with the remaining folks. Really can't afford another injury, especially any of the starting 5.
