Seems to me the DIFFERENCE in this game is that LU has been in a couple of backyard, saloon type barroom brawls, and have won some lost some. Does'nt seem that way too much for JMU, so the question I ask is when JMU get HIT in the MOUTH, and they WILL, how will they respond. To me that will be the difference in the game. Because on the other hand what makes LU much more dangerous is they have nothing to lose. They are not even supposed to be in this type of environment/situation, so I can see them playing a little bit more loose/aggressive. Now if its close will JMU "pucker" up and get tight(thats what im betting on) or will they be able to handle the new kids on the block

Couple things.

1. JMU was picked 8th pre-season CAA. We weren't supposed to be here either.

2. We've been in those brawls, too. UD was overtime, which we lost. W&M came down to the wire, which we won. I believe that in our current 7 game winning streak, we actually trailed or were tied in the 4th quarter in 3 of them.

Yeah, I looked it up to check my stats. W&M, Albany and Stony Brook were the games in which we were either trailing or tied at some point in the 4th quarter.

We held both UR and Stony Brook scoreless in the second halves. UR was just an 11 point lead at halftime, that ended up being 35.

That's unfortunate...could they not get the logistics worked out for everyone's travel arrangements or something?

Course we all know which band bluejacket thinks is better anyway...

JMU is battle tested.

Every team in the playoffs has everything to lose with a loss. One loss and your season is done.

Sorry...I guess I read the thread wrong. So LU's band is not going. But will JMU's band be there with the students on break...I guess that's my new question...will they do the fieldshow after the game to the away side?

Everyone knows that they are better are except you....
Bigger doesn't always mean better...(and yes PH I understand my phrasing...)

Im hoping to see some more challenging formations as the band hopefully tops 250 next year and 300 after that

From what I have read about JMU they are tested quite frequently, usually for STDs.

Yes, they will be there. The band members know going into the season that they may have to return early from Thanksgiving to go to any potential playoff games.

A few years ago, they did the Macy's parade, then had to travel to a game in two days.

Actually, I will say that the mascots were/are always told to not make any Thanksgiving day plans in case of playoffs. And I know that has been the case with GA's in the athletics office. Of course, we always made plans anyways, knowing that playoffs weren't actually going to happen.

During my time as Sparky, I can only remember two times when our marching band attended a road game. In both circumstances, the only reason the band was there was because they already had something scheduled within an hour of the game.

From the band members that I know, there is some disconnect between athletics and the marching band.

I think we discussed that in another thread. Too bad that they won't be representing us up there.
