At home.

The only school it's EVER acceptable to lose to in the Big South is Coastal, and you better not do that too many times (you know, say, three times in a row) if you want to keep your job.
You know as well as I do there's a lot more to it than just being Charleston Southern. Do I really need to break it down?

Chadwell is a good coach, but they only won by a narrow margin and had Woodrum and Ray played, we would have won... it would have been an entirely different scenario. We might not beat Coastal, but I'd bet on a game much closer than the CCU/CSU game.
And If "ifs" and "buts" were candies and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas. We didn't win. we lost. to an athletically inferior team coached by superior coaches. I'm not saying we fire Gill. I honestly think this is just a culture around the program that has become OK with mediocrity. I don't know who to fire. Who to keep. I mean there has been one constant in all this but we all know he's untouchable. I honestly cant tell you how to fix it. I can tell you i'm done being satisfied with coming oh so close.
There are the Kool-aid drinkers, and on the other end of the spectrum, the Hemlock drinkers. I fall in the middle, because sports really doesn't matter in the broader scope of life. I'm sure that there were CSU fans who felt the same as you when Chadwell's team got their butts kicked by Presbyterian.

Lang's article said Masha knew Thursday night he would be starting, all while Gill was saying Josh would play.

Was Masha told that by Gill? Or did Masha just sense it?

QFT. Jon you know as well as anyone that i have a ton invested in this team. I worked as a student for the team. I would say I owe a lot of where I am today to a few of the staff members (shout out to Ed Gomes and Danny Wenger). They helped me get my career started while i was just a young immature sophomore. That being said I loathe losing like we do every year. I WANT to be wrong. I WANT this team to prove me wrong. I will gladly praise the Lord that we made it if we win this game this weekend. but again the odds are stacked against us. We don't even know if Josh will actually start. If he does. Great! we might have a chance. Sorry I am not Rah Rah about this game. Maybe I'm jaded as an alum. Maybe I should just be quiet and let watch as the alma mater I claim and plan to send my kids to writes the same story year after year. but at some point there is a breaking point. Every man has one. last weekend I really just cant shake. take my fan card. if its even something you or anyone else is qualified to take. but I'm not going to just sit around and hope. I'm going to speak my mind because people who can do things I can't read this. Those people need to be motivated to make changes and figure out what is going wrong and how we can proceed to fix it in the future. In any situation, the best thing you can do is the right thing; the next best thing you can do is the wrong thing; the worst thing you can do is nothing.

So if i'm wrong for being doom and gloom about this week. great. At least I'm doing something.

Telling Masha to get ready or be ready to start and telling the media Josh will be available are 2 different things. Gill may have lied, but we don't know that 100%.

You have the right to voice your opinion, and I know your background. That's why I couldn't believe what you were posting. Don't let SJ get in your head so badly.

There is nothing new or special about this team. I will not believe any different until it is proven on the field.
And Gill is giving me less and less reasons to like him. He lied to us last week about Woodrum. He's likely doing the same thing this week. Gill says Josh will play but let's see if he allows him to speak to the media.
'Lying' is pretty harsh. There are a lot of unknowns about what happened and who was told what when last week. Do we know EXACTLY what was said to Masha? 'You're going to play Saturday' has different meanings. Was Masha told before or after the press was informed about Josh?
Of course your Man Crush NEVER did anything like that at all

Surprisingly He's talked me down a little:) Thats what good roommates do. haha you should have seen me in my office after the Chuck game. My student managers thought i had gone insane. Especially since they had no idea what I was yelling about. We had just won our game 54-0

...and just what responsibility does any head coach have to be exactly forthcoming with the status of a player? Judging Gill's x&o's as a coach is fine, but one begins to look a bit wacko by insinuating character issues such as lying and it makes the discussion take more of a personal feel. The higher-ups who might look at the board must get a real chuckle when they read that stuff.

I don't believe for one second that Coach Gill lied. This type of injury is difficult to know how one may react to it. In my opinion, it isn't even worth discussing further. No one really knows the timing of what happened. It is crazy to put the coach's integrity into question over something that is really trivial in the grand scheme of things. Let it go.

Interpret this how you will.
Chris Lang at 9:15am, Nov. 15:
Late in Wednesday’s practice, Flames quarterback Josh Woodrum went down with a lower body injury. He did not practice on Thursday, but afterward, coach Turner Gill said he expected Woodrum to play today.

But things change from day to day, and it now appears that redshirt freshman Stephon Masha will be in line to make his first career start against the Buccaneers.

Multiple sources whom I trust tell me Woodrum will miss the game with the injury, though we won’t know for sure until closer to kickoff. Expect a definitive answer around 2 p.m. or so, but all signs are pointing to Woodrum missing a start for the first time since he took over the starting role four weeks into his freshman season.
Chris Lang at 12:42pm, Nov. 16:
Stephon Masha had an up-and-down debut, but it’s hard to say many bad things about a kid who didn’t know he was starting until Thursday. Turner Gill said the Flames simplified the game plan a bit for Masha, and he looked a little shaky at the beginning. He threw some bad interceptions and made some nice plays with his legs, and he helped the Flames nearly erase a 15-point fourth quarter deficit.
Liberty Flames Nation on Nov. 16:
Woodrum suffered a cut to his leg during the Monmouth game. Over the course of the week that cut became infected, and had to be drained multiple times, according to several sources close to the team. The day to day nature of such an injury is a legitimate reason for Gill’s inconsistent descriptions of Woodrum’s availability for CSU.

I love it. Keep it quiet. Force them to prepare for both QB's this week.

I just wish that Gills student workers publicly posted here. It could be a fantastic clash. QUICK. Someone pull up Danny Rocco unsuspending Asa Chapman because he exceeded Liberty's expectations of its student athletes for TWO WHOLE WEEKS. FRIGGIN INCREDIBLE that guy.

Seriously though. WHO CARES. We lost. Our staff might stink. Our players might stink. Our game plan might have stunk. This bathroom I am occupying definitely stinks.

Every 2 years we talk about hiring Chuck South's Head Intern. Surely CSU can't pay their coaches, right?

Hopefully PH adopts responding to all Danny Rocco references with Ken Karcher.
