I would be concerned as well if that were the case regardless if it is "inter-squad"... The first two (or more) scrimmages during fall camp are when everyone is supposed to be fighting for a job either on 1st or 2nd teams, unless there is a player circumstance, etc.

So - to sum up my opinion we should see the "best" playing and head knocking scrimmages that these players can muster. Also, a very true analogy to consider "you play like you practice"!!

Until then, I am going to be "cautiously optimistic"...

Random question! Does Gill read from a teleprompter during interviews? I was watching the one from Allen York and he looks like he's starring off at something the entire time and not really looking at Allen or the camera. Really doesn't matter either way, just curious.

We record with coaches and players after their practices. Coach and the players do not read off a prompter. We shoot the first few minutes of the workouts to layer under what coach and players tell us. Hope this help! Go Flames!

I will ignore PH's comment about prompters and say that you hit it on the head with your opening comment on the defensive line preview. I noted either in this thread or elsewhere that either the offense is that bad (which frankly I doubt even with the question marks that we have) or the defense is that nasty and it sounds to me like the defense could be very good this year, especially the front seven.

I honestly believe that Nick could go down as a top 3 linebacker in LU history come the end of 2014 if he isn't already

Rocco did the same thing. It was actually horrifying when he'd look at the camera. I'd always think I did something wrong and that he was gonna kill me.

I think the coaches could have a pretty tough decision as far as whether to redshirt Masha or not if his performance the last couple weeks is any indication. Good job on Smith for staying with that one pass for the TD last night. Overall, some improvement over last week by the offense but the defense is going to be nasty...

I agree with you about Masha s status. He exhibited several moves that remind you of a player who once played a couple of hours up the road. Will he be content to "sit" for a couple of years? Running backs looked better. We do have some speed and moves. Coaches have several options on running plays. And ,yes BJ, I have taken my umbrella down but may be looking up every now and then.

Couple observations, either gills recruits are more talented or roccos last few classes didnt have much depth because the 2 deep is filled with gills guys. I actually think rocco was really top heavy as far as recruits who produced the last 2 years. Interesting that both scott and newman are ahead of charles williams as well. I figured newman would, he reminds me of a brent vinson with higher upside

Interesting decision to redshirt masha. my guess is he sees the long term potential gains of having him for four consecutive years as opposed to the short term gain of having him for a few plays this season.

I can see that but my concern is why are some of Gills recruits, particulary the red shirt freshmen, are getting bumped out of the 2 deep in some positions by walk on's. I am referring to Demarcus Faison, Canon Smith, and Gerald Holt which were fairly high recruits. I would have expected those guys to at least be on the 2 deep. I am a little surprised by Robinson and Williams being bumped out as well.
