In other words, shut up *itches!
Wow. Yeah, that's not something I want to hear coming from a Liberty athlete in a public setting. If he says that privately that's one thing but publicly isn't right.
There's a culture at Liberty (and I guess just in general) that if you criticize something it makes you a fair weather fan. That's not true. If people were fair weather fans they wouldn't be paying attention.
Criticism in general at Liberty isn't accepted very well. That's why you have the chancellor and his wife saying things to people on Facebook or why the AD's wife says things on Twitter. If you say something that isn't 100% positive you're an ignorant hater who doesn't know anything because you're just a fan. We want to be big time programs but we're not willing to accept anything that isn't 100% positive.
Our players have been reading this board for years. Some of our coaches have been too. That's why they have an "us against the world" mentality right now. They think that we're all out to get them because we have been less than rainbows and Skittles this week.
I love Liberty University and I love its football team. I volunteered countless hours working for them in undergrad to show that along with traveling to as many games as I possibly could. Coach Rocco taught me more things than I could list on here and I have a ton of respect for him as a person and as a coach. Me saying that I'm not happy with our undisciplined play or our turnovers or our lack of a big win isn't saying that I don't love my school, its team, or its coach. It's me saying I have high expectations out of them because that's what they taught me that I should have and it's me saying that we're not meeting those expectations right now.
I'm not a coach. I'm just a fan. I can't tell you why certain things aren't working or why certain things are. All I can do is sit, watch the game, and then afterwards say, "Yeah, that didn't work" or "That worked really well." Saying something didn't work or that something was ugly doesn't mean I don't love my school or that I am any less of a fan than when I say something was a great play. It just means we had a bad play.
I am a fan. Let me read and post on FlameFANS.
You are a player. You don't need to read or post on here. Nothing good can come from that.
