I would like to point out that as much as we get on the student population for cheering for other colleges, I follow 5 players on Twitter and every single one of them has said something about rooting for another college team. My question is , if they can't prevent players from focusing on one team, then how are they supposed to get the students to buy in?

You're going overboard if you think people will focus on just LU.

I didn't stop liking my other teams because I went to LU. You're going too far in the "LU first" perspective. You can't stop people from liking other teams. It just has to be LU first, NOT LU only.. And for our players, they're LU first since they're here wearing our name on their jersey.

And it should be noted that several of these players used to play for the schools they talk about.

That's the biggest thing right there.

If you wanna get onto players for pulling for other teams, you have to get onto Barber for being happy when South Carolina does well.

These guys have either played at other schools as Sly said, or they have friends playing at other schools. I tend to pull for schools my friends are at whenever they're not playing Liberty. Am I a terrible fan for that? Have I not bought in?

Im a fan of Liberty first and foremost...does that mean I dont support other teams? certainly not. anyone that looks at my fan profile on ESPN sees Im a fan of Texas Tech and Im a fan of ODU. Im also a UVa fan (my oldest sister graduated from there and I saw quite a few games in Scott Stadium...I even was in the stands when UVa beat Florida State in 1995 I think it was...it was the game where Warrick Dunn was stopped on 4th down at the 1). Either way, Im gonna support other teams (except Duke or UNC...no offense but Im not really big on that rivalry) but if they are playing Liberty, Im wearing my LU red or some form of LU gear

I am from Talahassee and have been a lifelong Seminole. I have lived in Georgia since I was eight and pull for the Dawgs. I am planning on doing my Specialist degree from the U. of Missourri, but if any of the before mentioned schools play LU or get in the way of LU, I am for LU 100%. It is ok to be attached to other schools.

Are there any plans to have a press box on the student side expansion? I think it would be a mistake not to. Just a simple one.
It would also be cool to go ahead and put in the endzone seats. Put the bank there. Leave more room for students in the first quarter.

from Lang:
Falwell announced that the timetable for the second phase of expansion at Williams Stadium is "very likely" to be pushed up to late 2012 and could begin soon after the Flames' final home game against Stony Brook on Nov. 10. The plan is to build an upper deck on the student side of the stadium bringing the seating capacity to 25,000. There is also a plan for construction of another building on that side of the stadium to house more athletics department offices.

It'd be cool to see a model of what this will look like. I'm glad that they're going to do this because the stadium sort of looked out of balance or something.

I think there was a picture of what the stadium would look like after stage 2 but I dont know where to find it...since my office is right next to planning and construction Im sure once an updated rendering is out we'll get to see it

Yeah, I’d be interested to see a model of what this should look like. Will the 2nd deck be an exact replica of the 2nd deck on the Baptist side (minus the press tower, obviously)? What about this “building” on that side? How big? Where will it be located?

I can’t wait until this expansion. With all the talk yesterday, this is the only thing we can control the timetable on.

This is what was originally put out as to what it was supposed to look like after all 3 phases. Obviously, there were a few changes to phase 1. And I'm sure there are/will be changes to phase 2. And I don't see any "building" depicted? Any other suites to be added?

They didnt indicate such yesterday but if they did add more it wouldnt shock me. the building is probably going in the grassy area where the light poles are so Id guess those would be shifted out to accomodate

I think more suites are a must. Another row of 18. Even if it's only a shell built and they can be finished and furnished as they are needed.

Suites were specifically mentioned during the presser. The student side expansion will. Most likely mirror the current one

I think they said they are considering a three story tower on the student side as well. Said it "might" host more luxury suites and additional athletic offices. Three stories built on top of the current elevation should provide matching towers.

theyd have to do something about that sharp dropoff over by the north end of the student section if they wanted a building that could accommodate that many suites on that side

I'm so excited for all of this. I thank God that I'll be able to see all of this transformation.

I've been gone from LU for 4 years now and every time I think that there is a possibility of adding a SECOND deck on to the stadium, I think back to the times where we were lucky to break 2,000 in the entire stadium.

Can't wait to see what we look like in 20 years.

Are all our suites filled up? I know they were the first year. It'd be awesome if there was such a high demand that we can build more.

I mentioned it before but theyll probably have to address the grassy area at the north end of the student section if they are going to put a large building there. Probably have to add dirt and plant grass to extend it out far enough, or essentially make a basement so that part of the foundation isnt hanging off
