Radford said in one of his chats that we shouldn't expect to play Liberty any time soon. Other than baseball, we never seem to play them in anything and I don't understand why. It's really bothersome.
Radford is the ODU beat writer.

Apparently they just don't have any intentions to play us.

I think that's from this current AD. That conversation was rather recent.

Looks like ODU is out for possible 2011 game. Their schedule is up

2011 ODU Football Schedule
Sept. 3 Campbell
Sept. 10 at Georgia State .
Sept. 17 Hampton
Sept. 24 at Delaware
Oct. 1 Massachusetts
Oct. 8 at Rhode Island *
Oct. 15 Towson *
Oct. 22 at Villanova *
Oct. 29 James Madison *
Nov. 5 Richmond *
Nov. 12 at William & Mary *

Am I looking at that schedule correctly? They aren't having a bye week??

Looks like the last week of the season is their bye week, so unless they make the playoffs, they, in essence, have no bye week.

I hope they can handle that...I know its the high school level but EC Glass plays 10 straight games and they push their bye week to the final week as well...youd have to think that itll take its toll by the fourth or fifth game...

So our schedule now includes Patriot champ, NEC champ, and could be ACC champ. Not bad. Now schedule anybody other than a D2 and I'm loving this schedule :nod

So here is what we are approximately looking at right now (thanks to 09 for posting this earlier before this most recent development):

9/3 @ NC State
9/10 RMU
9/17 JMU
9/24 @ Lehigh
10/1
10/8 bye?
10/15 Coastal
10/22 @ Charleston Southern
10/29 Presby
11/5 VMI
11/12 @ Gardner-Webb
11/19 @ SBU

that's 5 home games and 5 away games...and I dont know if the homecoming date for 2011 has been posted yet or not.

This is the correct schedule:

9/3 -- at N.C. State
9/10 -- Robert Morris
9/17 -- James Madison
9/24 -- at Lehigh
10/1 -- TBD/Bye
10/8 -- at Gardner-Webb
10/15 -- Coastal Carolina
10/22 -- at Charleston Southern
10/29 -- Presbyterian
11/5 -- VMI
11/12 -- TBD/Bye
11/19 -- at Stony Brook

The final non-conference game will be a home game, depending on what's open on either on 10/1 or 11/12.

I know this discussion is about 2011 but I looked ahead to 2012 and we have as of now 9 of 11 games filled with the home and home with Lehigh that our scribe mentioned.

Ive heard that 11/5 will be our last home game btw

I love the placement of that bye either place it ends up. Before GW/after Lehigh will give us a breather after 4 very difficult non-conference games and the chance to get focused on conference play. If it ends up 11/12, then that will give us 2 weeks to prepare for SBU which is great, obviously.

I'm still pulling for ODU for the final slot, although I haven't checked their schedule yet, so I don't even know if that is possible.

Why do I get the feeling that our playoff hopes next year are going to go down to the last game @ Stony Brook? Hate we have to play them in NY, especially since we kicked their butt so bad this year. .

I think the only "guaranteed" loss on the schedule at this point is the opener against the Wolfpack. all three of the teams we lost to this season are coming to Lynchburg in 2010 and will have to replace some major cog in the offense going into spring ball so that should help

One of the guys on AGS used to run a site where he posted the schedules for all the FCS teams...I tried to look it up but it looks like his domain has expired or something. Itd make it a little easier to see who our possible options for filling in that last game could be
