a lot of people over bsufans.com admit this game scares them. I can't WAIT for this game. I just really hope I don't have to pay $ to watch it. I'm sure everyone on flamefans would GREATLY appreciate info on watching the game as soon as you find out 8)

Without looking it up, I would say it's Ohio U.

I'll look it up and won't give away the answer, but just to check myself.

That was quick. Good work.

The original MAC members were Butler, Cincinnati, Ohio U., Western Reserve and Wayne.

Miami and Western Michigan came aboard the next year.

Thanks, it was a 1% logic 99% luck attempt. I just picked a team I knew had been around a while (and in DI)...

If you choose to sign up for an account, you may want to go to the User Control Panel and change a few settings. The language on the board can be a bit salty and a number of the avatars and signatures are not family friendly or work friendly. You can improve the experience by updating a few settings. If you want to do this, follow these steps.

Go to the User Control Panel
Click on the Board Preferences tab
Click on the Edit Display Options link on the left side of the page
change Display signatures to "no"
change Display avatars to "no"
change Enable word censoring to "yes"

Case Western Reserve long ago ditched major athletics to concentrate on being one of the top academic institutions in America. But I admit that I had no idea they were ever in the MAC. And Wayne? Wow.

I have been reading this board for awhile and just wanted to say hello. It sounds like you guys have your self a great quaterback. That scares me because our corner play last year was horrible. If it doesnt improve this game will be high scoring affair.
We have ourselves a bit of qb controversy brewing. Page our starter originally verballed to Oregon and was ranked the number 12 quaterback in his class he has yet to impress. We have a true freshman backup (wenning) who is supposedly a stud waiting in the wings. If Page struggles early I think the wenning era will begin against you guys.
Our coach (parrish) has always been a pass first kinda guy but with page struggling and the fact that we have 3 really good backs our strength is deffinatley the run game. If we can get any threat of a passing game we will become a much more dangerous team.

Some guys you will enjoy watcing

Eric williams sophomore running back. Fast back that runs hard, he is going to be special

cory Sykes junior back. He will be the fastest guy on the field if he gets a step he's gone

Otis Brown redshirt freshman, We havent seen alot of him yet but he could be dynamic

Sean Baker junior safety freshman all american got injured last year but is back with a vengeance
he will be everywhere on defense. He is just fun to watch.

Well best of luck to you guys lets have a good clean injury free game

unlike a lot of FCS fans these Ball St fans seem very respectful and would be great to be at a game with. wish the game was closer! 8)

The BSU campus radio station has some interviews up with a couple of their key players mentioned earlier in the thread here:

And for those who missed it, here are some highlights from this past week's BSU victory over SEMO.

I'm sure the BSU folks get tired of hearing it, but I was disappointed that the boom goes the dynamite guy wasn't a part of that video.

I've been reading all week about how our rush defense was terrible and that the only reason they didn't get a lot of yardage in the second half is because we forced them to pass because of our lead. I'd like to call complete BS on both of those.

Going into the game we had no clue what St. Francis would do offensively. They came out and surprised us and went for 65 yards on four rushes. After that, once we knew what they'd do, they averaged 2.3 yards on 33 rushing attempts.

To say that they gave up on the run and tried to pass when they could still get six yards a carry is completely and absolutely wrong. In the second half of the game, St. Francis rushed the ball 18 times and only attempted 9 passes.

We had one bad drive defensively on Saturday and now apparently our defense is terrible. We gave up 6 plays of ten yards or more - two on the first drive. We also had 34 plays where we gave up 3 yards or less. I love how that entire side of the ball is judged by 6 plays in a game where they were on the field for 54 plays. Apparently to Liberty fans, six bad plays negates 48 good to solid ones.

Agreed SJ. And it wasn’t so much they dominated us those 4 plays as it was they caught us off guard. The first play from scrimmage they came out with a 5 wide look. This caught us by complete surprise. We made our adjustments, and by time we did they switched to a power formation and did a quick snap. We made the necessary adjustments back but not quick enough and were out of position. We were left scrambling the rest of the drive (3 plays). Coach Rocco said during his press conference Tuesday that this is something they’ve been game planning since January and they did a great job with it. But after that we dominated on both sides of the ball.

Plus, we ended up containing the run from scoring the rest of the game. I wouldn't say it was bad run defense at all. I do hope we can stop Ball State's "three headed monster".

You guys are breaking the stats up so they don't look as bad. They had a RB get 5 yards a pop. That's not good. It's not like they were running reverses and draws.

I would like to add though, if we stack the box, it doesn't look like they'll have much to counter with. It's tough to run against 8 or 9 guys no matter how good your running game is.

Outside of that first drive he had 23 carries for 74 yards which is 3.2/carry.

He also only had 1 rush in the 4th Q. So he ran for a little less than 136 yards in 3 quarters. You can fiddle with them all day though. Don't make me interpolate that. (181 yards for 4 quarters)
