J'Courtney will either be playing at Liberty or in his own backyard next year. I'm pretty sure the issue isnt WANTING to be here, it's BEING ELIGIBLE to be here.

I trust the decisions he makes. I trust his ability to judge not only football players but people as well. If Danny Rocco thinks this kid has changed, or thinks that he can make an impact in his life in a positive direction while coaching him, then I trust him. His track record speaks for itself.

Most def! I agree with you and I trust coach with his decision and this he is going to make a HUGE impact in out defense. We totally need thiS kid.

Hopefully this gives an indication as to where his heart is at, at least. Status as of this afternoon/morning. Sounds to me that if he isn't there, he's working on it. If he is there, he's definitely come a long way, which would have helped Rocco's selection process quite easy.

J'Courtney's facebook status say's he's ineligble and looking forward to seeing what january brings..that really sucks because he's the other monster playmaker this defense needed.

Agreed. I was counting J'Courtney, and when I first heard he was ineligible I didn't sweat it too much. Vinson and Broggin as his backup are solid. We'll be just fine without him.

Depth is never a bad thing and he was a 4 Star for a reason at one point. He would have really helped the defense, it's a tough loss whether you guy's want to admit it or not.

That is a tough loss. 4 star recruits do not come around often in 1AA. So if he is ineligible this year would he have 2 more years after that to play provided that he gets his academics in order?
#312456
At this point who knows how many years he would have left or he's going to get eligible. He's had a rough couple years since leaving UVA. I would like to think we hang onto him but who knows what's going to happen. It sounds to me that he's pretty open to anything.

sad news, but hopefully this doesn't keep J'Courtney down. Keep hitting those books kid and keep your head up! Everything happens for a reason. I will miss not knowing what he would have been able to do on the field for Liberty this season.

His will be a definite loss as I think he would have contributed pretty readily but its not the end of the world. We have a number of guys (like Brent Vinson and Danny Broggin who have been mentioned already) who are more than ready to step up and that is something that is great to say these days.

The reason I say it's not a huge loss is no one was ever counting on him being here. Yes, if he had become eligible, he would've played for us, but our defense wasn't built around him. From the get go everyone knew that him becoming eligible was a long shot. He would've been icing on what was a really good cake already.
