How awesome would it be if Rashad and MJD combined behind the new Jags O line to dominate like MJD and Taylor did 2 or 3 years ago. Can't wait. It was too far for him to slip, but he couldn't have found a better fit.

I think he's been rooming with Jones-Drew for the past month or so he should have a little bit of a head start in regards to the offense. Not like an RB has to learn much anyway.

Does anyone else find it slightly ironic that RJ will now be wearing teal and black?

It sounds like while all of us were fretting over this, Rashad probably knew all along he had a spot with the Jags, either as a late draft choice or a free agent. I'm psyched for him.

According the N&A article, Rashad didn't expect to fall that much. He was also very close to a deal with the Saints as an undrafted FA had he not been drafted.

I think that would have been a better fit for him. He is really what the Saints need in the backfield. Jones-Drew is a similar type of runner. Only lower. And with giant legs.

The 'Phins play the Jags in preseason and this year its here in Miami. I am looking forward to being able to check RJ out.

But if RJ can become their 2nd back, which I think he's in a great position to be, he can get enough work in to set himself up to be someone's #1 back in a couple years.

Based on the contract he just signed, I think the Jags expect MJ-D to carry most of the load (but I do agree there is an opportunity for Rashad to get carries if he is productive.)

Yea I agree, Rashad needs to tear it up in preseason. How much are tickets to jacksonville games? I am sure it is one of the cheaper venues.

I just received this Flames Club email frm BG:
Rashad Jennings became the third highest draft pick in Flames Football history yesterday, when he was selected in the 7th round of the NFL draft.
I thought only Eric Green and Rashad had been drafted, and the other LU players in the NFL were signed as free agents . Who was the 2nd highest draft pick in "Flames Football history"?

I'm pretty sure Freddie Banks was drafted in about the 6th round. If it wasn't him it was Kelvin Edwards.

8th round for Banks.

Richard Shelton and Donald Smith were also drafted, each in the 10th round.

Good for Rashad, good for Liberty, and good for PC...

...That's one less threat we have to worry about for the upcoming season...

I can now say I coached a player who was drafted into the NFL (he was on the tennis team for a couple weeks at LCA while I was the coach there about 6 years ago...yes, I was 18, freshman at LU...oh how long ago that seems, I'm definitely an :oldhag ).
