You guys should remember that sometimes a school is more important than football. To some kids, going to school where they want to is the biggest thing and football is just an added benefit.

I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case with some recruits, but not so sure that it's the case here. He probally should've transferred out of Spurrier's starting QB carousel earlier. Now, he's got one year left to show what he can do.

Beecher is an extremely intelligent QB with solid mechanics. If he reaches his potential, he could get a look from the pros. So, it's pivitol for him to find the right fit, if he intends to keep that dream alive.

As long as he's strictly a backup, a great move.

However, if this blocks Brown from starting behind center, I don't like it. He's clearly the heir at quarterback and I think he could be a great one with two years behind center.

Brown is a redshirt Freshman. He could play another year as a wideout/wildcat QB and still have 2 years of eligibility to be the starting QB if Rocco chooses to go that way. Or, he could very possibly be our stud WR for the next 3 years and an NFL prospect.

mike brown does not have to play QB, and quite honestly i think having him play in several areas makes him more valuable to the team...whatever happens we'll be fine at QB

You have the heir all wrong. Beecher is coming for a reason.

He's not coming to LU to be a back-up.

Im sorry for yall, tommy beecher flat out refused to play near the end of last season due to fear of being hit. That came from him and spurriers mouth. On top of that he threw 4 picks and had a concussion in the opening game last year, 4 picks in the spring game as well. Why do you think he isnt in columbia right now? he sucks.

blwall: carolina is The university of south carolina if your a carolina fan.

And that reason is to go to Seminary. Football is an added bonus.

This whole thread is going in circles primarily because none of us know anything -- well, except for maybe SJ. What we do know is that Beecher will miss spring ball which will put him squarely behind both Brown and Landis -- anyone remember Landis? Hmm? Anyone?

If Beecher is the SEC-caliber QB that his recruitment to an SEC school would seem to indicate, this might not be an extraordinary obstacle. If it is, then he'll be a backup regardless of where he transferred from or why he transferred in the first place but would, at the very least, provide us with some quality depth at the position.

Well aware of that.......but only in that one, tiny part of the country do people think "Carolina" refers to South Carolina........the rest of the country......even the world knows that there is only ONE Carolina.........& that schools resides in Chapel Hill.

i think you are very confused sir. There is only one REAL Carolina and it resides in Columbia, SC. Do not insult us with such foolishness

see my post, he is not SEC caliber and that is why he didnt start for more then 1 game this past season. Btw he didnt even finish that whole game after throwing 4 picks. he game out and the back up went like 9/11 and 3 td
