Now, this is going to surprise you, especially coming from the “All-time CAA-Homer” and at the risk of alienating many of my CAA readers, my pick would have been Liberty.

bump

thought some of you might want to refresh your memory as to the roller coaster ride of emotions we are about to experience no matter what side of the fence we land on

on AGS, someone posted the NCAA rule book about at large spots. If only the polls are taken into account and we win next week, I think were in. If its GPI, I dont think we have a shot.

And about to experience? Every saturday this month has contained a bit of that.

I believe you're referencing that "bridge qualifier" rule, which doesn't apply to the Big South, nor would it apply to Liberty this season, because the Flames do not have two victories against teams from auto-bid conferences.

Well........that depends on who gets in over us.

But this year should be a bit better. We have a good amount of posters who sit on the conservative side of the fence right now. Of course if it comes down to us and Weber State, all bets are off.

The Weber State scenario is the one that will create angst. You can look at Liberty or Weber State for the final spot and objectively make points for both teams. Another that would be frustrating is if Elon gets beat by Samford and is selected over Liberty.

If we win against SB (we will), this was another solid season in the foundation of a great program. The biggest disappointment would be for the seniors on this year's team. There has been hope all season and there still is, but the window is rapidly closing.

basically, we are huge Northern Arizona fans this week.

But also, after seeing the committee, Id think we have better chances than last year, as already mentioned CSU and Laffy AD's as chairmen, but also throw on VMI's and Youngstown state's AD's and we could get a helping hand this year.

Who cares how we get in or why. We have played very well, and deserve consideration for a spot. If we get in this year before the auto bid next year for ANY reason it will make a big statement about a program on the rise.

Mickey (our coach) still seems to think we have a chance

but seriously, with a loss to us on your schedule, I just don't see it happening. If we had gotten into the playoffs this year, you would have had a strong argument.

Well, unlike last year, this year we don't have our conference commissioner saying to us, "you guys win your last game, and I'll take it from there. Trust me, you'll be in the playoffs."

Of the teams we're competing against for the last playoff spot(s), which ones do?

I don't think this article has been posted yet. Thanks Chris.

Guy's not to worry KK is on the case:
Tuesday, Big South Conference commissioner Kyle Kallander submitted a report to the NCAA FCS playoff committee on Liberty, the conference’s only potential playoff team.

Kallander was on hand last weekend in Boiling Springs, N.C., to watch the Flames beat Gardner-Webb. And with Liberty involved in Sunday’s Big South men’s soccer title match, Kallander spent plenty of time with LU athletics director Jeff Barber, talking about how the conference should present Liberty to the committee.

I'm assuming that you mean the fact that Kyle is spearheading this whole make us look good thing to the committee it means we're doomed. which if he is then we are.

Yes, that's all I mean. My faith in KK (and BSC) has been lost a long time ago

Entering the playoffs that season, Coastal was ranked 20th in the GPI, and three teams eligible to be selected as an at-large were passed over for three much lower-ranked teams. Portland State (7-4) was 10th in the GPI and had a win against FBS New Mexico and losses to two other FBS teams.
that gives me hope about weber st. and possibly getting in ahead of them, at least.
