It would be nice to have more the 1 quality home opponent a year. Maybe one day.

It hurts the game atmosphere so much to have games like that. Fans will say, well that wasn't fun, those guys sucked. Bad habits like leaving early or sleeping during halftime are formed. We need better home game opponents.

I wanted to mention, a pretty cool experience from last nights game. It doesnt happen too often in "The Bill" for reason mentioned above, but last night, Fogg flipped a guy in WWF fashion. The crowd on the Baptist side kind of got electric, people were standing and cheering for the next play, and excited to see the 3rd down. Its fun when a big hit or big play moves the people.

BAMA was playing A&M.

I came for the second quarter.

Is he problem that the fan base just isn't there? Are the fans apathetic? What are the real answers to filling the seats? Has there ever been a sellout?

I think its a combination of things...the student support is improving significantly (they were excellent again yesterday, including singing along with the halftime show), but I think its apathy to a small degree, but I think it may also be the scheduling as well. Lang noted the attendance in his piece for today's fishwrap and online, and he said that if people know that the game is going to be a snoozer, they tend to not show up as much. The problem is, its a challenge getting quality opponents to come to Lynchburg for non-conference games on a regular basis. If we can get teams like a Lehigh or Fordham or Delaware or even Northern Iowa (I talked to one of the UNI fans about it on AGS a couple days ago) or Towson or Central Arkansas, and then aggressively market that game within the Lynchburg community (including the surrounding counties), youll see a significant increase in the attendance, particularly from the "Baptist side".

The Bama/A&M game was available for viewing at the Alumni tent. No excuses for missing the first quarter. :D

I'd like to see LU pay out some big bucks to get a FBS team to come to Lynchburg. If Duke can get Alabama to come to Durham, I think LU could get one of the "big boys" to Lynchburg. Maybe an ACC school .

We actually were 20 minutes away from playing Alabama back in 01. But it was at their place Secondly very few if any FBS schools travel to FCS schools for games.

I'm pretty sure he would be happy if there was no music or PA announcer at all. :D Recruits would LOVE that!

But if they must play music between songs, lets at least make it Steven Curtis Chapman or Michael W Smith.

There are enough succesful, well known artists who are LU alumni, that they could fill every moment of music played at each game. I'd love to see them be promoted in that way. And then we could have the bored voiced PA guy announce that "ALL of the music heard tonight is from LIBERTY ALUMNI"

Probably not the year to be bringing it up, what with sequestration and all but why have we never had a flyover? That's pretty much the best thing a sporting event can do aside from the game itself. Every time I've ever been to an event that had one, it's been the highlight.

That had a lot to do with Cutcliffe being a Bama alum and his close ties to that program and the SEC, they basically did him a favor.

So with that in mind, when is 'Braska coming?!?

Seems to me like we have had a more filled stadium this year so far than last despite worse opponents, Gillville has had over 700 people in total attend so far, and as far as I've seen tailgating has been fairly steady as I've been around on gamedays. For those who have been around longer or who have paid better attention to that stuff than I have in recent years how is this year comparing thus far? Trying to measure if I should actually be optimistic about an increase of gameday support or if there actually hasn't been an increase.
