I didn't make it to the Elon game last year, but did listen to it on the net. Any feedback on how we are going to respond to their QB trying to come to LU and throw for 750 yards as we prepare for Thanksgiving? One answer: D line taking his head off on play #1, but....didn't we have serious secondary challenges in that game?

We were on the road, coming off an emotionally draining letdown at Bill and Maria, and Rashad really wasn't on top of his game yet. I think this game will be a shootout, because we won't really have an answer for their QB, but I don't think they will have much of an answer for us offensively, either. Should be a very fun game tho, and don't underestimate our home field advantage. We haven't made a habit of losing at home lately... in any sport.

Riddle's an outstanding QB. But we also had a day when we did nothing right and it likely created a perfect storm for a blowout. I would be amazed if that happened again at Williams Stadium this fall.

I agree that if we take care of business then this schedule is strong enough to get us into playoffs.

Don't know if anyone noticed this.... but we have 7 home games... and 5 away games. three of which are back to back to back.
Another thing thats kinda weird. we go an entire month without a home game. from sept 6 to oct 11. and the team travels to ohio one weekend and then the next weekend is in conway thats a lot of traveling guys. i have no doubt our boys can produce a W in all of those games but thats a scary Road skid.

That's when playoff berths are earned. Road victories are more impressive to the selection committee than those at home. If we take down the Penguins there will be massive celebrations in my cul-de-sac and nobody down here will understand why.

That 3 game stretch will more than likely define our season. @ WCU, @YSU, & @CCU. At least we have a bye before YSU.

I'm not worried about WCU. except for actually finding the place... anyone have any idea where in SC it is? i've been shown before but i can't find it now on google earth i'm more worried about playing YSU then going straight into the CCU game in Conway. i know simpson will be gone so CCU will hopefully be even less of a threat than they were last year but you never know.

Coach Rocco, as do all great coaches, will have to prove that he can maintain team intensity and focus over long stretches of time in hostile environments. Isn't that one of the aspects we appreciate most in sports?

No predictions yet, but I will say I don't think we make the playoffs if we have more than 1 loss with this schedule.

based on my opinion of who I think will be strong next year. I don't think the comittee would consider YSU a bad loss. The others would hurt us. Without an autobid you really have to make an impression on the comittee. Plus the fact that UD made it as far as they did after finishing 3rd in their division of the CAA, doesn't help us either.
