I'm too old and too low-tech to know how to post pics here, but I'd love to see somebody start one of those "look alike" threads of the ODU players. Here's a link to the ODU photo roster to get us started: http://www.odusports.com/SportSelect.db ... SID=750428

From a forum member: "I'm not sure how you are calling this schedule a tough one. Four of our opponents are in the bottom eleven teams of the Orlando Sentinel FBS countdown. Add VMI and Liberty to those four and we have almost instant bowl eligibility." That should be up in our locker room this week! :football

Anyone have an idea the % of ticket sales that happen at the window on game day? If you aren't a season ticket holder, is day of purchase just the style of our fan base?
Either way, it is concerning that 214 on the 50 yard line isn't even half way sold out. The ODU board posters are reporting that they are not buying tickets from their allotment and getting them directly from LU, since the seats are so much better.

Just notes on independent attendance from week zero. UMass didn't break 9k.
NMSU was over 20k in a 28k stadium.

So Nasser announced this freshman class if 5k strong. I don't think it would be crazy if we saw 8-9k from the students. Between 103-107 and the club and sweet tickets, that is about 4k already sold.

So we are sitting at 12-13k to start. It sounds like we could see 2k from ODU. And that's not looking at any walkup.

The effects of mediocrity combined with not making a change at head coach is really having a much more negative effects than I originally thought. We should break 20k easily this weekend and the fact that is looking less likely is sad.

Yes. LU fans have traditionally been game day ticket buyers. Partially because they feel if they ‘know somebody’ they can get in for free. It’s gotten light years better but that’s still the mindset of a lot of fans. Hey Church is Free why shouldn’t a football game be free?

In the pregame, I heard the announcer say they were doing a $3 ticket model and that "it worked." I didn't look up their previous average attendance, but apparently 20k is pretty good for them.

Here's the seats remaining by section:

213 - 396
214 - 253
215 - 379

101 - 662
102 - 408
103 - 1
107 - 1
108 - 380
109 - 585

201 - 208
202 - 295
203 - 158

207 - 161
208 - 213
209 - 135

Total remaining - 4,235

GA is greyed out, but I assume the combination of the ODU allotment + students + $5 staff tickets, is covering most of that. If you were to spin this positively, it makes it look like we've already sold more than 20k seats, but that doesn't smell right. Will be interesting to see how this trends.

GA will be close to sold out simply because that is what people will buy when walking up for the most part.

My guess at this point is somewhere between 19k and 20k. Which is pathetic and speaks volumes as to why many believe we should have made a head coaching change.

But who knows, maybe the last week media blitz locally will pay off.

So lets start with our old capacity, 19200. Subtract 7k for the student section, and add 1500 for between 213-215. That would put us at 13,700.

Student Section - 7000
Reserved -13,700
GA - 4300
Total - 25,000

That's just eyeball guessing, but the numbers seem about right with 12,800 on the visitors side of the stadium and 12,200 on the baptist side.

It doesn't give that number, but doing some basic math and an eyeball estimate on the the greyed out parts, it looks like this.

213 - 396 (750)
214 - 253 (750)
215 - 379 (750)

101 - 662 (832)
102 - 408 (672)
103 - 1 (672)

104 - 0 (672)
105 - 0 (672)
106 - 0 (672)

107 - 1 (672)
108 - 380 (672)
109 - 585 (832)

201 - 208 (306)
202 - 295 (459)
203 - 158 (326)

204 - 0 (326)
205 - 0 (326)
206 - 0 (326)

207 - 161 (326)
208 - 213 (459)
209 - 135 (306)

Total remaining - 4,235 (11,778)

Also of note, there are 7 sections for students. If we estimate those at 700 seats each, that'd be 4,900 total. Like someone mentioned, if the students actually pushed 7-8k, there's going to be significant bleeding into the other sections.

On the other side of that same coin, the students aren't sitting one seat per person. It's always been jammed like sardines over there. I would not be surprised if the student section had 3 people for every 2 seats at kickoff time. That would give us that 7k number in that area. With 118 being GA as well, that's going to be absorbed by the students.
