Just dropped by the board and saw this thread. In fact Liberty did recruit Tim Tebow and compared to some other schools somewhat succesfully. Coach Skalaski recruited him and at least had an audience with the Tebows. In the end it was a two school race between Alabama and Florida and all the smart money was on Florida since Tim's entire bedroom since boyhood was a Gator Shrine. In talking with Coach Skalaski he said that some LU supporters couldn't understand how Tim could not come to Liberty. It seemed to work out out pretty well for another great Christian QB that went to Florida named Danny Wuerfell. Here is an ironic fact for you, The Gators have had three QB's win the Heisman Trophy.. Steve Spurrier, Danny Wuerfell and Tim Tebow. All three sons of preachers. I support both Liberty and the Gators but you have to admit the platform that playing for Florida gave Danny has certainly allowed him to do more for the Kingdom. If you watched this years Sugar Bowl they presented him with a huge check to support his work with Desire Street Ministries in New Orleans. If he comes to Liberty, no Heisman, no National Championship and less exposure for the Kingdom. Same with Tebow. Hopefully that will change one day.
