In regards to Jameel he went to Hermitage High School in Richmond, the Highland Springs coach is Scott Burton. Jameel's coach was Patrick Kane, did Kane or Burton get hired? I dont see any way Jameel goes to the University of Richmond, if he thinks it is tough at UVA he hasn't seen anything yet. Richmond is ten times tougher than UVA

First off, welcome to the board. It was Burton who has supposedly gotten hired. I must have gotten the two confused then.

I agree with flamefan...If Jameel couldn't keep his grades up to stay at UVA, it would be pretty hard for him to transfer to Richmond. Also, I don't know if Richmond would be a good place for him to go. They've had their current quarterback for the past two years, and he's done pretty well. He'll be a Redshirt Junior for the '08 season. You never know though...

Didnt mean to come off short so apologies if I did....If jameel could get his accuracy down he'd be a great quarterback. I watched him play in high school and he was a great 2 sport athlete like his father.

welcome to the board flamefan.i would not say UR is so much harder than UVA, but agreed i cannot see jameel going to UR. either he will take his lumps and eventually come back to UVA....something former UVA wideout ottowa anderson did, or he will end up at the FCS level.

Here is a story from yesterday's C-Ville fishwrap on Sewell ....
FOOTBALL: Sewell looking to move forward

By Jay Jenkins / jjenkins@dailyprogress.com | 978-7250
January 23, 2008

Many shook their heads in disbelief when Jameel Sewell elected to sit courtside Saturday night inside the John Paul Jones Arena for Virginia's basketball game.

The sighting came just four days after Sewell, Virginia's starting quarterback in its past 22 games, received final word that he would not be allowed to attend UVa during the spring semester due to his academic standing.
But here is the part of most interest to us ...
Sewell, a Richmond native, could also serve a two-semester suspension and apply to return in time for his senior season, his final year of eligibility, in 2009. It is not a farfetched idea - former wideout Ottowa Anderson returned to the program in 2005 after skipping the previous season.

Anderson spent the idle months away shipping and assembling furniture.

Sewell, if eligible by NCAA standards in the fall, could also transfer to an NCAA Division I-AA or Division II program and boast two years of eligibility. Desiring to be a starting quarterback, Sewell could research viable programs as a free agent in the months that lie ahead.

Time, for now, is on Sewell's side.

"It would just be smart for me to think things over the best that I can before things get too late, before any type of deadline arrives or anything like that," Sewell said.

And for the record, the whispers we've heard about a certain NFL-prototype DE in Charlottesville appear to be gaining some legs if you peruse the Sabre.

JDUB, are you saying Brock is better? A similar situation happened at Marshall years ago: Brad Pennington had an amazing freshman year, but then redshirted his sophomore year so that an SEC transfer could play out his senior year for the Herd. Same thing could happen at LU, if Brock was willing to take a red shirt.

Brock was a captain as a junior. He's the leader of this team. He is a senior this year. Do you honestly believe someone else would come in and unseat him? Really? C'mon now.

I think you got this backwards....why not give Sewell the red-shirt if he hasn't had one and let Brock finish out this year.

Sewell has already had a red shirt. Brock is our quarterback regardless of who comes in.

I have heard a lot of hype about Mike Brown being really, really good, and we saw what Brock can do. You can't argue with his final numbers. He led the team and they scored a ton of points and didn't turn it over that often. I couldn't ask for much more. No need for anyone else in the stable, especially not with Brennan possibly signing on.

Now that is a koolaide statement right there....if someone truly phenomenial came along and dropped in our lap....that wouldn't be the case. Unless Rocco professes he loyalty that no one could replace Brock or something.

Well, Sam Bradford from OU won't be transferring, and I think Tim Tebow is happy at UF, not sure who else could move Brock from his spot. (So I am exaggerating a little).

Be realistic rocket fan. Noone good enough to overtake Brock will be coming here.

And the DE Sly is talking about is Jeffrey Fitzgerald.

With the last one playing what 10-15 years ago here.....we went thru a big slump in getting amazing talent medic. I mean other than a few good RBs, we didn't have anyone who was near Redd on a physical and athletic level for a long time.

So I won't have to go to the sabre and puke in my mouth, fill me in as to why Fitzgerald would entertain leaving and why LU? Was he a Rocco recruit? Maybe Eugene Monroe would come too? lol

Its in the whisper stage right now. I'd rather not say anything more but if you did go to the Sabre you'd have a better idea.
