Its no problem...I like going deeper into the numbers sometimes. That is why you see me post these extra detailed numerical extrapolations on some of the discussions

I thought, although not relevant to football, that it was a unique observation.

I was poking at Jon using one of his many outlandish statements from the Good to Great thread.

Thanks...btw if we had still won by 31 AND the numerical pattern I noted held, that would mean LU would have won 75-44 (which once again sounds like a basketball score)

I am happier with the shutout.

The first shutout of G-W's D-I existence.

Makes me happy.

For those of you at the game (Super, Smoothy, etc.), I have an ATTENDANCE question.

Someone said that G-W averages about 4,000 in attendance, but the box score in the Lynchburg paper said there were 14,411 at the game. Is that possible??? On the LU side they showed on TV, it looked pretty empty from about the 20 yard line to the endzone on both sides. Somebody said we had about 700 fans there.

How many total fans would you estimate were there, and what was the percentage of LU fans vs. G-W fans?

going by TV- it looked like about 4411

maybe someone inadvertently added a "1"

PS: checked our site/boxscore and it shows attendance of 5750 (which seems about right)

Thanks, medic.

I watched the game again last night at 11:00 on MASN. Based on what I saw, I knew 14 thousand couldn't be accurate.

If there were 5750 fans there, I would say at least 2,000 were LU fans, and by the end of the game there may have only been 2,005 fans still there!

yeah that had to be a typo....we were not even close to that kind of attendance....

There's absolutely no way there were 5000 people at that game.

AGREED. now we could not see how many people were in the suites, but i think there were about 1,500 LU fans, and on the GW side maybe 2,000....no way 5,750 there.

I have no words to describe this moment. For those of us who have been around during "the dark years", this is an unbelievable moment and I don't want to sully it by trying to describe it.

The only thing I can say is "thank you". Thank you to all the fans who've turned out and filled our stadium this year, even or especially on the Baptist side. Those are the hardest seats to fill and those of you there on that side are there because LU football means something special to you and that can't be ignored. Thank you to those of you on the student side b/c you create an environment that is unmatched anywhere else in this conference and in few other places around I-AA. My favorite chant is hearing our students with the "you weren't ready" chant at the end of games b/c it's painfully obvious that nobody else is ready for the level our team plays at and the level at which our fans support us. That's been the case at home all year long.
Tonight, it was true at Gardner-Webb. We went into their house and took it over in every respect. Our team was head-and-shoulders better and our crowd was so much louder and into the game than theirs' was. Thanks to SJ, Smoothie and the rest of you flag-wavin', chain-movin' (huh!) freaks who turned that place into Williams Stadium South.

Whatever happens tomorrow is out of our hands now. It's easy to make a case for why we should be in and easy to make a case why we shouldn't. However, what can't be denied is that this program turned a corner somewhere on the bus ride home from Elon and there's no going back. Even if we don't get the chance to show it this year, this program is moving forward and, just so you know, y'all ain't seen nothin' yet.

As for Godsil, he's going to be fine. He's one of the toughest mothers I've ever seen; in fact, it usually takes combat duty in Korea to make guys that tough.

I would also be remiss if I didn't give a special "thank you" to flamesfilmguy who proved to be somewhat useful during the last 4 months. Good job, Dave. Just no more roof dancing.

Carry on.
Crap. I missed this till now. thanks Lib. From the pics in the other thread though, ever heard of Just for Men?

The worst part of this being over break is I had no help to pull off what I thought would be an awesome tribute to Coach Rocco tonight. At Wake Forest, whenever they won something big, they would toilet paper the quad and it looks amazing (I've posted pictures here before). I was going to toilet paper his front yard with a big sign that said Thank You Coach tonight but had no help so I couldn't do it.
i was here. i would've helped.

Ohhh 6-7?? Man, wrap it up then 😭
