Not sure if any of this has been posted.
Constant will be in uniform this weekend, but will not start
Opelt's injury is his calf, not ankle...will miss 2-3 week supposedly
Cochran out indefinitely it appears
The rest of the injured starters from earlier in the season will not play again this year...all will apply for medical redshirts
Nick Moore was going to be the 3rd string QB this week, but he broke his hand in the game on Saturday.

This group is impressive enough that a Philadelphia Eagles scout was in the press box last Saturday night looking at Liberty’s seniors OL Marshal Ausberry and Eddie Pinigs, LB/DE Vince Redd and WR Wynton Jackson. Chances are he was taking note of Mike Gosdil as well.Paging PAmedic. Paging PAmedic.

Rockets to Start True Freshman QB D.J. Lenehan Against Liberty

Release: 10/01/2007
TOLEDO, OH - A tough season got even tougher when Toledo lost its top two quarterbacks to injury in a 42-28 loss to Western Michigan on Saturday. Those injuries force D.J. Lenehan, a true freshman from Easton, PA, into the starting role vs. Liberty this Saturday (Oct. 6, 7:00 p.m. at the Glass Bowl). Lenehan came into the game in the fourth quarter of the WMU loss and drove the Rockets in for a late touchdown.

Liberty Flames Look To Light Up the Glass Bowl – My View
This is not your father’s Liberty.
Toledoans know that the Jeep Liberty's styling goes back to the original off-road Jeep Willys via its trademark vertical Jeep grille and round headlamps. They also know that it’s completely different from its predecessor, the Cherokee.
Likewise the Liberty University Flames are nothing like the Flames of old.
For openers, LU is picked to win the Big South Conference championship for the first time in its six years in the league.
It all starts with the LU second year head coach Danny Rocco. Rocco learned football from working with some of football’s best coaches. He played under Joe Paterno at Penn State, worked with John Mackovic at Texas and Bill McCartney at Colorado. He spent three seasons with Tom Coughlin at Boston College and nine years with Virginia head coach Al Groh. Both Groh and Coughlin worked with Bill Parcells, which further explains how Rocco formed some of his coaching practices.
The 3-2 Flames (arguably just inches away against William & Mary from being 4-1) have stepped up their level of players and play under Rocco. For those not familiar with the geography of Virginia, Lynchburg, the home of LU, is equidistance between Blacksburg and Charlottesville. This has severed Rocco well with transfers from both UVA and Virginia Tech. Recruiting further south, Rocco has 26 players (16 FR and SO) on his roster from Florida, one of the top states for football talent. Similar to the Rockets, the Flames three units have excelled at various times but overall lacked consistently. They also have some injuries to key players.

After a tough loss to conference and divisional foe Western Michigan University last Saturday, the Rockets will look to avenge their pride and their season this Saturday when they take on Liberty University for this year's homecoming game.
"Homecoming is especially important to me because it's one of my last games here in the Glass Bowl [Stadium]," said senior defensive tackle Tyree Pollard. "You always want to win homecoming because you got all the alumni coming back, all the old players, your family's here, the fans are here - I definitely want to win it."

Rockets making stars of opposing runners
By MAUREEN FULTON
BLADE SPORTS WRITER
In the University of Toledo's first two Mid-American Conference games, the opposing running back has come out of the contest with league player of the week honors.
Central Michigan's Ontario Sneed was the recipient in Week 2, and this week Western Michigan's Mark Bonds took home the award. The Broncos had two 100-yard rushers Saturday as Brandon West joined Bonds.
The Rockets are among the worst in the country at stopping the run, allowing 220 rushing yards per game. UT coach Tom Amstutz said the problem lies in not executing fundamentals.

Rockets won't play name game
Not fazed by new label for Liberty
By MAUREEN FULTON
BLADE SPORTS WRITER
Don't be startled. Two of the University of Toledo's rivals in the Mid-American Conference West Division, as well as one of the Rockets' Big 12 opponents, did not lose to I-AA opponents this year.
That would have been embarrassing.
Toledo coach Tom Amstutz is only concerned with the challenge presented by Liberty.
( THE BLADE/ANDY MORRISON )
He also said, "I don't want to be a guy that's playing more than one Division I opponent a year."FBS! Nearly EVERYONE we play is DI, coach- incl YOUR TEAM!
