From what people have told me, we could've gotten a team like NAU (that's at App this week) but would've had to return the trip and there's no point in us going to friggin Arizona. I say keep everything regional. There's enough teams within 6-8 hours of here that are good to never leave the region.

I'm sure Chris would've. Chris also would've loved us taking the trip to Hawaii that CSU is taking.

We can go into Tennessee, I don't mind. There's just not reason to leave the Mid-Atlantic region because of the shear number of I-AA teams. I can think of 15 teams in VA, MD, DC, and NC right off the top of my head that are I-AA non-conference.

i can get there in 6.5 hours. but i got to the border of GA from Lynchburg back in the summer in 5 hours and 20 minutes.

I wouldn't mind putting Hofstra or Villanova on the schedule since we played them in the past but don't know the possibilities. Do we have a 1A program on for next year. The schedule looks better but need to get that 2nd division 2 team off the schedule and replace it with a legitimate 1AA team.

It is serendipitous that we have so many consistently good teams in the mid-Atlantic region with the likes of the last several national champions in App State, JMU and perennial playoff caliber teams over the last couple of years such as William & Mary, Delaware (well not this year apparently), Hampton et al. The program has some nice options at least that don't break the bank for travel.

(Hopefully LU will get a consistent game down in the 757 each year (for LU alum and for a recruiting presence) with the likes of W&M, Hampton, Norfolk State, and now ODU in a 45 minute radius. Too bad Christopher Newport doesn't step up to DII...they seem to be growing very fast as a university with all kinds of capital improvements.)

The Western Carolina and Youngstown State games are return trips to close out home-and-home series. Liberty still has to return a trip to Lehigh at some point to complete that series.

I'll keep an eye out for that Lehigh matchup. I'm only about 40 minutes away form there!
