LU Notebook: QB may be redshirted despite solid preseason

Liberty University quarterback Mike Brown has shown flash and poise during the first few weeks of practice. He has the ability to make tacklers miss, and he's impressed the coaching staff with his decision-making abilities.

Still, the chances of Brown playing in 2007 are small. On the depth chart, he's behind two quarterbacks - Brock Smith and Spencer Landis - who have had solid training camps.

Scar, you are taking this getting in shape for the LU alumni game way too seriously. And try to stay away from the Marine reserves recruiting office. I don't think a Philly guy in his 40s would like Parris Island in August.

Just my guess, but I think he'd pull the shirt off Brown before he'd play ZT at QB this year.

I think that he probally would pull the shirt as long as we're still in playoff contention with a realistic shot at the postseason. Otherwise, he'll probally be working out with Chris Summers and building chemistry. It will be interesting to see how that whole scenario plays out with the Brown and Summers combination.
