Matt does decent work. But nothing to merit all of the love the league throws his way. Perhaps MASN wouldn't mind flying in a guy from Houston ... Hey, I can dream can't I?

I think Matt does a decent job when given a quality Color guy. The past couple of years for hoops they have gotten better partners for him. In the earlier days of the big south TV package, they paired him with some guys that didn't know Gabe Martin from Martin Lawrence!

Exactly. I think Matt would bo OK for football if they could find an ex-coach color guy that's good. Please no Sonny Randall. When we did some VMI and LU Games years ago on Fox Sports (HTS around here) before they were in a conference they used a guy named Dave Weekley for PXP. He is a Sports guy out of Charleston WV. He is good. I wouldn't mind seeing him back.

Long time no see guys.

I think this is a great step. These religious schools like ND and BYU that have strong fan bases owe a lot of it to television as well. I think when you start putting games on TV, fans, especially evangelical Christians, can associate themselves with the school. If marketed correctly, we can really up the school's visibility.

Secondly, I find it awesome that both of the games being aired involve us. I think that shows that MASN and the Big South understand who can get people to watch the games.

Now if we could only get our fans to stop screaming when the team is on offense and start being loud when the team is on defense, we'll be DI-A in 10 years (Am I the only one who noticed that? I work for the ticket office and noticed it at every game)

Matt does do a pretty good job,but if you have ever watched him when he gets a Coastal game he is a true "homer". Maybe they should pair him with one of the Liberty announcers for the Coastal/Liberty game ... that would make it very interesting.

The funny thing is that every time we get a big south game on FTN like in the 1st round of the bs tournament, Ray and I get reminded over and over by the big south that we should be neutral. I think we have a fair amount of criticisim and praise on both sides when we do the games but yes we both graduated from Liberty, played sports at Liberty and get paid by Liberty on Liberty TV. So naturally we have a Liberty slant. However, when the game is neutral as anyone that saw the VMI game this past season can attest to, Ray and I were both very neutral. IMy best interview of the past few years was the postgame interview with Duggar Baucom and Reggie Wiillams after VMI won. I have not heard Matt do a Coastal game in a neutral setting but if he is slanting the telecast in a Coastal way, that is not right. Professionals know the setting and he has been doing this for years and I'm sure he knows that.
