I don't understand that statement at all. Are you basically saying that the architects didn't take into account the sun's autumnal position when designing the stadium?

I don't know about achitects/sun's autumnal position- but yes- evidently the positioning is bad and there is some sort of substantial sun-glare issue in the mid-afternoon, so their games all start by noon at this point

The stadium was set up like the old Conway High stadium was. That stadium had been there for years and they never had any problem with sun because they played 7:30 games on Friday nights. All of the games at Coastal either started at 12:30 or 7 last year. Some people are wanting 1:30 or 6 games but I don't know if that'll happen or not.

Great - They should be able to get a double wide rolled next to their field for this amount.

Haha, pretty much. They need $2 million for what's been proposed. It's just a fact of getting it. Mr. Brooks (aka Mr. Hooters) hasn't been able to donate this for one reason or another. He basically built the stadium.

No... SJ, the Conway HS stadium was exactly opposite, the away stands were parallel to University Drive, where the new scoreboard is now.

I coulda swore someone had told me the stadium was the same. Oh well. I guess all the fault is on the designers then.

The man that owns the four Hooters in Myrtle Beach if I'm not mistaken, at least that's what I was told when I went there.

Some people have nicknamed it The House That Hooters Built.

You would think that with your attitude that you have accomplished something in the Big South. Who really cares about girls basketball?

I wouldn't sign in either. You would hate to be tied to that statement. The last time I looked LU was pretty competitive in all sports in the Big South. So we have had a bad year in men's basketball and Football - let's see what happens next year. Softball 7-0, Baseball 7-2, Women's Soccer wins BS, Cross Country and Track - Do I have to say anything?, and the numberless exposure opportunities that Liberty has brought to the Big South. Most visible team in the conference? LIBERTY. Most pros in any league - LIBERTY. Best Facilities? LIBERTY. Biggest University? LIBERTY. Fastest growing school in the Big South? LIBERTY.

A ton of people think of Jerry Falwell as a joke but they understand that LU is a legit univeristy. The facilities are great. Best in the conference is a big stretch but they're extremely good.

I don't think best facilities overall is a stretch at all. Certain schools may have nicer facilities for individual sports. But nobody has all of the quality facilities that we possess. Although Winthrop is working hard to close that gap even without football.

I think you are delusional proto. How many Big South Football championships have you won? How hard has your baseball schedule been? You beat up Rider and Longwood - are you seriously trying to say that is an accomplishment? Who really cares about cross country or track?

Liberty is not the most visible school
Liberty does not have the best facilities
Fastest growing - I don't know - but I do know that Coastal has been growing liike crazy as well. They have a 73% acceptance rate where as Liberty has a 94% and higher academic scores from incoming freshmen.

Liberty is just as good as any school in the league - you guys have your pros but you also have your cons, just like every other school in the league.

Proto is paid by the school to make us look as good as possible. So keep that in mind when he gets to cheerleading.

I'm curious who you believe is the most visible school in the league. Seriously. There is no other school in the league who is anything other than a regional or best school. Love us or hate us, we do get a lot of ink.

Facilities clearly are in the eye of the beholder. I guess we're at an impasse.

The fastest growing designation is tough to prove since most of the other schools in the conference are quite a bit smaller. Our acceptance rate this fall is going to be well below 50% based on our flood of applicants that are larger than many Big South total enrollments.

Academic standing has always been our achilles heel based on our near open enrollment policy for decades. But as I mentioned, that is changing right now. What this has to do with the discussion is beyond me.

BTW we're still waiting for you to join us in the ranks of the registered. Most of us are registered on both the WU & CCU sites. We welcome differing opinions with open arms.

The most visible school? I would say it is probably a 3-way tie between Winthrop, Liberty, and Coastal. Each has their own strengths and have brought a lot of good attention to the conference. VMI certainly has to be mentioned for being the most recognizable.

The acceptance rate was brought into the discussion to relay facts about proto's 'best' statements. It just shows that you are less selective than some of the other schools. Coastal had 5,040 apps compared to Liberty's 3,970 and Winthrop's 3617. So if what you say is true - then Liberty may be one of the most selective schools next year. If i may ask - how do you know how many applications you ahve gotten and how many you will accept? it would seem that it is quite a large adjustment from one or two years ago.

I am honored that you are waiting for me to register. But as long as I don't have to i'm not going to - but you could change it to require registration if you wanted to force the issue. But remember - not all 'guests' are the same. ;)
