If I didn’t get a pay check for a couple weeks I’d quit my job too.

It’s not your grandpas college football anymore. We have to acknowledge money is part of it whether we like it or not.
:
I wouldn't, I've never worked because of money, money has always been irrelevant to my family and no motivation for anything, money has never stopped me from doing anything or going anywhere
I think that’s fine (although you may have to share your secret of not needing money at all, lol). What I would suggest is you try to imagine living someone else’s life. There are many many reasons someone might need money for very valid and ok reasons and I think you could come to those conclusions if you try.
My Mortgage company requires me to need money :)

That sounds like a decision that would normally be above his pay grade in a G5 program, and an argument could be made that the school was not obligated to pay it.
This sounds like it could all be true. That being said I wouldn’t fault the kid for believing the assistant coach. Should he have handled it differently, probably so.

I don’t think he’s a bad person or even a bad teammate just because of that situation. And maybe he is. I just don’t think we have enough information to truly cast judgement.

I see similar situations play out in the Army on occasion. Recruiters make promises about bonuses and on occasion the bonus doesn't make it onto the contract whether it's because of clerical error or some other reason. Then the recruit signs the contract anyway and complains after the fact that they never got their money.

If he is making major life decisions based on verbal promises from a random assistant coach that he never bothered to get in writing I really don't feel bad for him. He had several months to get it sorted out before the season started to include transferring again after the spring but he didn't. Instead he waited until his value was at its highest and his team was at their most desperate to demand money he knew he was never going to see otherwise (because it clearly wasnt in writing).

How far is this guy gonna fall before someone let's him on the field for them?
Acording to his Wikipedia page, his father is a pastor. Not necessarily relevant, but somewhat intriguing.

Happy we're not getting Sluka. It'll be a good QB competition this offseason. We should be in competent hands regardless of who wins it. Also being able to poach coaches and players from your rival is fun.

Give me Bradford or Burger for next year.

Totally agree, his stats are terrible. It means we got turned down by Henderson and this was a panic pickup. Give me Bradford next season, a Vasko starting QB means a lost season

If you are going to say Bradford, you might as well include Hauck. They have the same amount of college game experience. Burger really doesn't have that much more. Vasko has a good bit, and he appears to be a legit running threat, which should serve him well in Chadwell's system. Worst case scenario is he brings competition to the room.

True but Bradford will have a year under Scott and a year of practicing and the playbook which is complicated to learn.

But if Henderson wants to come I hope we don’t turn him down even Kaidon thinks it is a joke we’re bringing in Vasko, on X.

You mean we didn't consult with KS before we got Vasko? What were they thinking?!

His stats are terrible? Maybe you should compare his to Salters this year

Coastal fired their OC mid-year, and their HC's history as a playcaller has included some less-than-voluntary trips to new jobs. It looks like they also got drilled in the portal last year. That's a poor situation on several levels and, flatly, just an ugly offense.. I'm not sure I'd write Vasko off just based on those stats.

He looks quick, certainly plenty mobile for this offense. At worst, Liberty got a high-floor veteran who has relevant scheme experience from Kansas. I hope the change of scenery gives him confidence and he hits the ground running here.

Whether Burger (who I think is still the favorite), Bradford, or Vasko, I'm not particularly worried about QB.

Now go buy (er.. "recruit") some receivers please :D

Actually I am more worried about the OL and RB than I am about WR. Lost some key pieces on the OL to the portal and taking a huge hit at RB unless they can convince Joiner to stay. Definitely need more than what they are currently bringing in. At WR they seem to have the overall talent but need to be “coached up” a bit and stay healthy.

Did LU fire their DCs or are they too close to Chadwell?

I don't recall Chadwell ever firing any coordinators over the years. Most have that have been on his staff have left for better opportunities.

As for the QB situation, I feel much better now than I did when Malik left. We have four guys who potentially can earn the starting gig this fall and we would not likely be grumbling if any of them earned it. This spring, the QB competition will likely be intense even if Bradford is not back to compete. I'm not complaining. But we do still need to fill some holes around him.

Merry Christmas to all on this message board. Although we don’t always agree on the topics we express our opinion on, that high binds us together is stronger than anything that would divide us. We all share a common desire for LU to be a prominent institution on the national level so that the good news can be spread. I count it a privilege to be a small part of this forum and respect the expertise that so many of you bring!
