Coaching hires should be kept 'hush-hush", until official announcement is made.
Wait, aren't YOU the one with all the "my sources tell me..."?
Yeah but they’re usually wrong so it doesn’t matter

This may help start clarifying things:

New Auburn coach Hugh Freeze has found his play-callers, as the school is set to hire Philip Montgomery as offensive coordinator and Ron Roberts as defensive coordinator, sources confirmed to ESPN.

Montgomery served as Tulsa's head coach for the past eight seasons before being fired Nov. 27. He previously served as offensive coordinator at Baylor and Houston. A deal with Montgomery isn't done but should be finalized soon, a source told ESPN.

I'm hoping that the unknown regarding Chadwell's staff was due to waiting on what Freeze was going to do. The other possibility is that Aldridge doesn't want to be retained. Of course, that is not something I want to think about as Coach Aldridge has been a major blessing to this football program and the university.

McCaw mentioned a timeline of "later this month" in the introductory press conference. It seems like this was the plan going in. Chadwell has been out on the road putting a face in front of the '23 class and now will get to watch the existing staff get to work in the bowl preparation. Plus, Coastal is yet to play their bowl game and I would bet we will see several Coastal staff members in Lynchburg.

Freeze has announced the hiring of his new DC. That's not to say he couldn't get Aldridge for another defensive position similar to when Symons was DC.

Coach A is gone... To be honest, Coach Chadwell is not as good at the PR game as our previous team. Playing things close to the vest. Hopefully, he is getting things done behind the scenes with recruiting and coaches. Starting to feel like an Auburn fan when Harsin was here. ...Radio silence...

As a life-long Alabama fan I have a hard time swallowing any of our LU staff going to Auburn. It makes me want to puke. I hope Aldridge has a change of heart due to the players and maybe his wife will pester him to stay in the burg so that he tells Auburn to shove it. 8)

I would think if you had some really good assistants coming in, you would want that to leak out, right? You would want players and recruits to be excited about the future. Right now we are staring at a big nothing burger. Players and recruits see coaches leaving but nobody coming.

Feels like some bad juju. Folks on here keep telling me to relax and that this is the way it works - but it doesn't seem to be working that way for everybody else. I'm constantly seeing news updates on other teams in coaching transitions - reporting on who their new assistants will be.

I still really like the Chadwell hire, but there is a growing uneasiness with the lack of news.

I think the main reason we haven't heard much about Chadwell's new staff is that most of them are still coaching and he's trying not to disrupt those teams too much more. Obviously, I'm talking about Liberty and Coastal. I think most of his staff are on these teams, it's somewhat obvious. I'm hopeful that Aldridge will stay as our DC. He was very impressive in the Boca Bowl press conference. He's going to make a heck of a HC someday, but hopefully he'll earn his stripes first as our/Chadwell's DC.

This. And while I know much of the focus is on the defensive staff right now, I hope Klenakis stays as well. The offensive line took some significant strides forward this year, albeit with some results that were probably heavily affected by the QB carousel and injuries to the RB room. It reminds me of the type of progress Symons made with the defense in his first year when he took over a hot mess and I think that unit could be very solid in his second year.

I agree. Freeze can do all of this shifting & changing of their coaching staff because they didn't qualify for a bowl game

I just hope we can retain some of the staff from this former group, but I am also realistic in that all could be gone. Either way, if Aldridge leaves HCJC can always tell the team he wanted Aldridge to stay.

Well, you guys are a lot more chill and understanding than me.

I have no idea how it's okay for our coaches (who should be coaching a bowl game) to leave, but it's not okay for LU to announce who is coming in (even if they can't come here yet). It seems unnecessarily unsettling for players and recruits.

We don't know what players and recruits are being told. I have a feeling it's more than what the fans are being told. We don't really have a need to know.

Good post lll flame. Fans can't influence who assistant coaches will be, thus no need to worry.. I'm confident Coach Chadwell will have the max allowable number of coaches when time comes.

Yup. Freeze/Auburn sucking the wind out of the sails again before a game. Bush league

If you are Freeze and you have character, you call Aldridge from home and ask if he wants to come to Auburn and say "the only 2 people who know about this are me and you, we don't want a repeat of what happened at the New Mexico game, not fair to the kids, think about it and let me know by such and such a date"
