I also think being underdogs will work in our favor.

NC State has gotten better and Tech has been hit with injuries. Khalil Herbert only played shortly before sustaining a hamstring injury which was a big blow for them. Don't get me wrong, LU outplayed Tech, but injuries plaguing Tech certianly helped.Do you argue with yourself?![]()

#21 Liberty (8-0) kept its win streak alive and national ranking in tact with a blowout win over FCS Western Carolina, 58-14. The Flames will take on the NC State Wolfpack this coming Saturday as Liberty looks to improve to 3-0 against ACC opponents this season. The Wolfpack are currently a 2.5 point favorite.
Liberty has released its updated depth chart for this game.

Bunch of nervous nellies over there.

I see several games have been postponed for Saturday again and hope we can get more eyes on the LU brand.
This game has to be more intriguing than Navy - South Florida on the U at 7pm.

That said, ESPN Extra lists in on their extra games they cover. The problem is, the only way to get ESPN Extra is to have Verizon or Direct TV.Yes, Direct TV has it on @10 channels including MASN and all the regional channels. This is why I signed up for the "Sports Package" this year and will cancel after basketball season.

The 8-0 Liberty Flames will travel to Raleigh on Saturday, Nov. 21 to take on the Wolfpack of NC State.
With a win, Liberty would improve to 3-0 against ACC opponents this season. A win likely won’t come easy, however, as NC State is arguably the best team that the Flames have faced this year. The Wolfpack, like Virginia Tech, are bigger, faster, stronger, and deeper than the Flames.
NC State is 4-3 this year. After eking past Wake Forest, the Wolfpack were blown out by Virginia Tech 45-24. After losing to Tech, NC State reeled off three straight wins over Pittsburgh, Virginia, and Duke before a field goal loss to Miami. Last week, NC State beat Florida State, 38-22

Regardless of the strength or weakness of an opponent, you always speak of them as if they are the best team you will face all year, or ever. No need to look past any opponent. The truth is, we are going to have to play our best game to date to win this game. GO FLAMES.
THE NC STATE DEFENSIVE FRONT
“I think they are the best that we have faced at linebacker and at defensive front, as a unit. There may be a better rush guy here or a better player, but these guys are so physical and strong. Obviously, they are running a different type defense than you play against normally.”
NC State’s defensive unit ranks 97th in the nation in total defense, surrendering an average of 456 yards and 34 points per game.
Will NC State truly be the best defense we've faced all year? A defensive unit ranked 97th in the nation is the best we've faced? I'm having a hard time understanding what's true. Is HF patronizing the NC State defense so his guys don't take them lightly? Or is the 97th ranking somehow undeserved?
flameshaw wrote: ↑November 19th, 2020, 2:16 pmThis, plus I believe when HF talks up opposing players he isn't necessarily going by the team's stats, but what he sees on the video in terms of talent.Geraldos Mustache wrote: ↑November 19th, 2020, 2:03 pm I am having a hard time reconciling this statement from HF with the fact that NC State defense gives up big yards and points.I believe in the Lou Holtz philosophy when talking about opponents. willflop wrote: ↑November 19th, 2020, 2:57 pm Well, even statistically speaking, Syracuse is ranked 104, Tech is 95, and NC State is 97th. A 97th ranked ACC team very well could be the best defense we've faced, which speaks to just how bad everyone we've played has been on that side. The best statistic I have ever seen, is that statistics mean almost ZERO, especially for a single event. One of the laws of stats, is that you need 30 similar events to be statistically relevant. Yes, there are a few teams that lean very heavily on data and are successful. However, there are also, many times that they are absolutely useless. Just talk to some professional scouts, coaches, etc. The trades and changes that are not made, or don't work out, never get much press.
And why he's on ignore for me So no quoting plz[…]
